Episode 9 recap: Becoming a couple in an instant, they headed to Hongzhou.
Upon learning that the mastermind behind the scenes was Prince Liang and her lack of knowledge about him, Su Moyi had no choice but to continue the act of feigning death. Su Moyi believed that Prince Liang, who had no involvement in political affairs but was connected to He De's corruption case, must be involved in a larger conspiracy. Thus, it was necessary to uncover the truth about Prince Liang and gather more evidence of his wrongdoing. Su Moyi needed to hide herself, but she didn't know where to go—a place that Prince Liang wouldn't discover, and where she could still investigate him.
Lin Wanqing came up with an idea and brought Su Moyi to the Mido Escort Agency, even giving her own room to Su Moyi. Lin Wanqing showed Su Moyi around the agency and they talked about many past experiences. Su Moyi finally realized her previous misunderstanding of Lin Wanqing and returned the handkerchief to her. Su Moyi wanted to give the room back to Lin Wanqing, but as Lin Wanqing tried to hold her back, they almost ended up in an awkward embrace, which made Su Moyi feel particularly embarrassed.
Xiao Ba brought news that Prince Liang had ordered him to escort Deputy Chief Zhou Yipu of the Armory Bureau to Hongzhou. Su Moyi had to rush there immediately and deal with Zhou Yipu before his arrival. Zhou Yipu went to Xinxiu Tea House for leisure, and Su Moyi took care of him. She also released Xiao Ba, who had been passing messages for them, and instructed Wei Wen to return to the Grand Court to continue the act of Su Moyi's feigned death.
Lin Wanqing followed Su Moyi all the way and vowed to help her. During their farewell, Wei Wen mentioned Su Moyi sacrificing her beauty for the sake of the case, which greatly surprised her. Lin Wanqing thought she was going to be sacrificed by Su Moyi, but unexpectedly, Su Moyi asked her to pretend to be a couple and go to Hongzhou together. Seeing only one bed in the room, Lin Wanqing became nervous. She quickly lay down on the bed and when she saw Su Moyi about to get on the bed too, she immediately got up and prepared to leave.
