Episode 17 recap: Jin Mu Lai and Xiao Ma Que started dating.
Taking advantage of the supermarket discounts, they bought a lot of things. Jin Mu Lai, still working as a security guard, helped Grandma Hua carry her groceries. Grandma Hua sensed that he had something on his mind and asked him what was wrong. Jin Mu Lai asked Grandma Hua if the living still remember the deceased after they pass away. Grandma Hua told him that of course they remember, especially the scent left behind by that person.
Jin Mu Lai returned home and prepared hot pot for Xiao Ma Que. Seeing that Jin Mu Lai didn't know how to cook, Xiao Ma Que patiently taught him and even fed him with sauce. Jin Mu Lai took a sip of wine and said that hot pot tastes even better with alcohol, making Xiao Ma Que laugh.
Jin Mu Lai asked Xiao Ma Que about her biggest wish. Xiao Ma Que said she wanted whales to fly in the sky and become a billionaire, but her biggest wish was to be with Jin Mu Lai forever, growing old together. Jin Mu Lai said that all three wishes were difficult to achieve, but Xiao Ma Que said the third one wasn't hard and suggested they start with dating.
Jin Mu Lai quickly went to ask Grandma Hua where girls like to go. Grandma Hua told him it's the park. So Jin Mu Lai invited Xiao Ma Que to the park, and they sat on chairs, drinking beverages. Xiao Ma Que felt a bit disappointed inside because Jin Mu Lai turned out to be quite straightforward. A park date wasn't romantic at all, but she didn't show it.
Xu Lai and Li Qing were wearing masks, monitoring them from a distance. Xu Lai looked down on Jin Mu Lai for being stingy and bringing Xiao Ma Que here for a date. Xiao Ma Que saw someone in front playing with a teddy bear costume and happily ran over. Jin Mu Lai noticed her love for teddy bears and quickly went to buy one.
