Episode 12 recap: Qiu Yue Bai set an ambush for Cui Chen.
Xue Yi had another way to test if Zhao Tan Tan cared about Cui Chen. It was to see if Zhao Tan Tan would be sad when Cui Chen got hurt. Zhao Tan Tan thought it was feasible and asked Xue Yi to throw a coconut at Cui Chen. However, as soon as she saw the coconut about to hit Cui Chen, she became extremely nervous. Unexpectedly, Cui Chen reacted quickly and deflected the coconut, narrowly missing Zhao Tan Tan.

Zhao Tan Tan and Cui Chen embraced each other for warmth. The toad spirit woke up and revealed the method to open the bell. Qiu Yue Bai hastily had his men follow the instructions, and as the bell was lifted, they saw Cui Chen and Zhao Tan Tan holding each other tightly, causing Qiu Yue Bai's face to turn sour.
Zhao Tan Tan once again set foot on the road to Zhu Family Village. Qiu Yue Bai, worried that delay would lead to changes, expressed his feelings for Zhao Tan Tan and confessed his liking for her. However, Zhao Tan Tan avoided answering and made an excuse to run away.
