Episode 16 recap: Qiu Yue Bai schemed to break up Zhao Tan Tan and Cui Chen.
Late at night, Lian Rong arranged to meet Cui Chen by the lotus pond. Cui Chen made an excuse of feeling unwell and went back to his room to avoid Zhao Tan Tan, but in reality, he went to meet Lian Rong. Qiu Yue Bai knew about Cui Chen's whereabouts and intentionally let Xue Yi discover Cui Chen and then inform Zhao Tan Tan.
Zhao Tan Tan was originally making soup for Cui Chen, and when she learned that Cui Chen had gone out, she couldn't believe it. However, with no one in the room, she had no choice but to believe it. When she followed to the lotus pond and hid in the dark, she believed that Cui Chen had his reasons. The Tree Spirit learned that the battle was intense but Qiu Yue Bai only suffered minor injuries, which puzzled him greatly.
Zhao Tan Tan already knew that when Cui Chen first saw her blooming the first flower, he decided to separate from her because of her face, which resembled Lian Wen's face.
