Episode 17 recap: Cui Chen wants to reconcile with Zhao Tan Tan.
Qiu Yue Bai is well aware that Lian Rong has murderous intentions. To hold her accountable, he goes to the Qiyue Inn without hesitation and exposes Lian Rong's disguise, revealing the face of Yingyue. If it weren't for Mo Yan's intervention, Lian Rong would have been strangled by Qiu Yue Bai. She explains that her attack on Zhao Tan Tan was merely a response to Cui Chen's surprise attack, which she couldn't defend against.
Qiu Yue Bai, after taking that blow, knows that Yingyue truly intends to harm Zhao Tan Tan. He warns Yingyue not to harm Zhao Tan Tan, stating that even if he were the Demon Lord, he wouldn't be able to protect her next time. Before leaving, Mo Yan tosses a bottle of medicine to Yingyue, which makes her feel a sense of sympathy. Seeing Cui Chen getting drunk in his attempt to win back Zhao Tan Tan, Hama Jing is reminded of the time when he drank himself into a stupor for the sake of pursuing a swan. He offers advice to Cui Chen, suggesting that he should make Zhao Tan Tan happy to reconcile with her. According to him, that's how they can mend their relationship. The next day, when Zhao Tan Tan comes downstairs, Qiu Yue Bai is already waiting at the dining table, leaving her two steamed buns. His attentive gesture clearly shows his interest in Zhao Tan Tan.
Hama Jing and Huai Shu Jing are surprised not to see Cui Chen at the dining table. After they leave, Cui Chen wakes up from his hangover and sees Zhao Tan Tan returning the toad coat to him. He quickly rushes to catch up with her.

After observing the shopkeeper for a while, Zhao Tan Tan also became extremely tired and almost fell into a well. Fortunately, Cui Chen, who had been following her, caught her just in time. Zhao Tan Tan planned to buy two new blankets and explore the peculiarities of Changluo Town. Cui Chen had the same idea, and they shared an understanding moment, but then they remembered their ongoing cold war. Zhao Tan Tan quickly slapped his hand to express her disdain.
