Episode 19 recap: The Strange Noodle Shop.
Qiu Yuebai convinced Bai Diezi to give the lotus seeds to Zhao Tantan. However, Zhao Tantan didn't want to go against her true feelings and be with Qiu Yuebai, so she refused to accept the lotus seeds. Bai Diezi quickly apologized to Zhao Tantan for previously pressuring her with the lotus seeds and sincerely gave them to her. Zhao Tantan realized that it was Qiu Yuebai who convinced Bai Diezi and felt grateful in her heart. She considered Qiu Yuebai to be a good friend. Cui Chen, who was hiding outside the door, saw Zhao Tantan place her hand on Qiu Yuebai's hand. Without hesitation, Cui Chen burst in and pulled Qiu Yuebai away, saying that they needed to talk.
Zhao Tantan was worried that they would start fighting and tried to intervene, but Cui Chen claimed it was a matter between men and didn't allow Zhao Tantan to get involved. Cui Chen declared his ownership over Qiu Yuebai, stating that Zhao Tantan could only belong to him. Qiu Yuebai admitted that Zhao Tantan currently liked Cui Chen, but he believed that one day she would like him because there was nothing he couldn't obtain if he wanted it.
That night, Qiu Yuebai personally carved a wooden sculpture for Zhao Tantan. Bai Diezi saw how much Qiu Yuebai liked Zhao Tantan and couldn't understand why he wanted her to give the lotus seeds to Zhao Tantan.
Hu Meng immediately realized that Qiu Yuebai's move was a retreat to advance, but Feng Bao criticized Hu Meng for having a suspicious mind. Every time Zhao Tantan touched the lotus seeds, she would see some images. This time, as she anxiously touched the lotus seeds, she saw a scene from her childhood of the two sisters eating pastries together, and her state of mind reached a distracted state.
Feng Bao learned about the images Zhao Tantan saw and suspected that she was the Lotus Mark from over a hundred years ago, as touching the lotus seeds triggered her hidden memories. Zhao Tantan didn't want to hear the name Lotus Mark now. She insisted that she was Zhao Tantan and warned Feng Bao not to speak nonsense, or she would get angry.
Cui Chen didn't want to give Qiu Yuebai a chance to be with Zhao Tantan again, so he informed the Centipede Spirit to come and take Zhao Tantan away. Qiu Yuebai felt very depressed when he found out, but he had something important to attend to and couldn't accompany Zhao Tantan back to the Qingyuan Sect. So he let Bai Diezi go with Zhao Tantan instead.
The Centipede Spirit intentionally created a separate space for Cui Chen and Zhao Tantan to spend time together. The Centipede Spirit pretended that her leg was injured and couldn't carry so many people, so she suggested that Cui Chen and Zhao Tantan fly back together.
Cui Chen wasn't in a hurry and took Zhao Tantan to the market to go shopping. They stumbled upon a lively scene and Zhao Tantan immediately dragged Cui Chen into the crowd to witness the drama of two noodle shops constantly lowering their prices to attract customers. They discovered that one of the noodle shops was owned by Lao Xie, and Zhao Tantan was delighted to see their companions from Qingyuan Mountain. Upon learning about Lao Xie's predicament, Zhao Tantan gave him an idea to organize a tasting event to attract customers.
Lao Xie listened to Zhao Tantan's advice and prepared a variety of delicious dishes for people to taste. However, even though it was free, no one showed any interest. On the other hand, the noodle shop across the street was bustling with business. Zhao Tantan was puzzled by this and decided to investigate. She found that people eating at the other noodle shop couldn't get full no matter how many bowls they had. Zhao Tantan ordered two bowls herself and as soon as the noodles arrived, she couldn't resist and started eating with great enthusiasm. Cui Chen noticed that there was a spiritual force interfering with the noodles, but unfortunately, Zhao Tantan was already captivated by the aroma and couldn't stop eating, even finishing Cui Chen's bowl as well.
Realizing that the situation was not good, Cui Chen couldn't stop Zhao Tantan and ended up carrying her back home. Zhao Tantan shed tears because the noodles were delicious, which completely shattered Lao Xie's confidence, and his noodle shop was on the verge of closing. Cui Chen bought two skewers of sugar-coated haws to cheer up Zhao Tantan, hoping she wouldn't blame herself too much. However, Zhao Tantan was still upset and blamed herself for her lack of self-control, which led to Lao Xie losing his last bit of confidence.
Cui Chen took a bite of the sugar-coated haws and praised their exquisite flavor, which aroused Zhao Tantan's gluttonous side. She finally took the sugar-coated haws from Cui Chen's hand and felt somewhat better. A man pushing a cart full of things appeared suspiciously behind the noodle shop. Cui Chen and Zhao Tantan sensed something was wrong and quickly opened and inspected the cart while the man was unloading the goods. They discovered that it was transporting swill, emitting a sour and foul odor.
Zhao Tantan noticed a jar on the cart and out of curiosity, picked it up and gave it a spin. She suddenly found Cui Chen exceptionally enticing and insisted on eating him. Cui Chen quickly dodged Zhao Tantan's advances. After immobilizing the man delivering the goods, they finally learned that the jar was a "beloved jar" that made everything look delicious when a certain spell was cast on it.
Cui Chen extracted the solution from the man and restored Zhao Tantan to normal. They hurried back to the noodle shop to show everyone what they had actually eaten. The customers who regained their senses couldn't accept it and quickly left the noodle shop. Shu Lao Da, seeing this, became anxious and confronted Zhao Tantan and Cui Chen, who had ruined his good fortune.
