Episode 29 recap: Everyone helped Su Ying reconcile with Yun Sheng.
After watching the video and receiving an explanation from Qin Yun Sheng, Mi Bai had a complete realization. She told Qin Yun Sheng that she would let go. Qin Yun Sheng then asked her whether her feelings for him were genuine or if they were tied to her obsession with Mi Su. He also told her that Mi Su would also want her to be happy and advised her not to dwell on the past. Mi Bai felt relieved and thanked Qin Yun Sheng for his words.
As the project leader, Mi Bai was late, which displeased the others. They criticized Mi Bai for benefiting from her father's influence. Su Ying stood up for Mi Bai and defended her against the others' comments. Upon hearing this, Mi Bai came out from behind the wall and acted as if nothing had happened, joining everyone in their work.
Afterward, Mi Bai apologized to Su Ying, who forgave her. Mi Bai was happy, and Su Ying mentioned that she needed to talk to Yang Zheng Wen. Mi Bai stopped her and shared the details of what had happened earlier.
Su Ying arrived at the agreed meeting place and asked Yang Zheng Wen what they were going to do with the house. Yang Zheng Wen said he hadn't decided yet but insisted that Su Ying should be the one to fulfill it. Su Ying asked why, and Yang Zheng Wen explained that the house provided a view of the sunrise, fulfilling their regret from when they were together. He wanted to give it to Su Ying and give himself another chance. Su Ying found it laughable and criticized his actions, stating that she didn't want to see him anymore. She then walked away, leaving Yang Zheng Wen in tears.
Su Ying received a message from Qin Yun Sheng, inviting her to the glass house. Inside, Qin Yun Sheng informed Su Ying that he had donated the glass house to a hospital and that he would be going abroad. Su Ying forced a smile, and Qin Yun Sheng handed over the remaining paperwork to her, asking for her help. Su Ying accepted it, and they exchanged a few more words before bidding each other farewell.
Zhang Yi Sen gave Mi Bai a farewell gift and gave her many instructions, which touched Mi Bai. Su Ying, Du Hui Xuan, and Xu Ming Shi accompanied Su Ying's mother back home. Shortly after arriving home, Su Ying received a phone call from Zhang Yi Sen, informing her that Qin Yun Sheng was leaving and asking her to send him off.
Su Ying hurriedly went to the hospital, but Qin Yun Sheng and Mi Bai had already left in a taxi. Su Ying arrived late, and Zhang Yi Sen informed her that Qin Yun Sheng had already gone. Su Ying returned home, feeling disappointed.
Du Hui Xuan and Xu Ming Shi discussed the situation. Du Hui Xuan worried that Qin Yun Sheng and Mi Bai might get together. Xu Ming Shi firmly denied it, leaving Du Hui Xuan curious about his certainty. Xu Ming Shi panicked, and at that moment, Qin Yun Sheng called Xu Ming Shi. Du Hui Xuan witnessed it and questioned Xu Ming Shi. Xu Ming Shi had no choice but to tell the truth: Qin Yun Sheng hadn't actually left, and the whole act was just to make Su Ying see his true feelings. Du Hui Xuan complained that Xu Ming Shi should have informed her earlier about the plan, saying that she could have helped them. Xu Ming Shi was surprised, and they called the others together to discuss how to reconcile Qin Yun Sheng and Su Ying. Du Hui Xuan assigned tasks to everyone, with the main goal of evoking emotions in Su Ying. Everyone was confident and had their respective tasks.
Su Ying went to the hospital to pick up medicine for her mother, and the plan went smoothly. She saw many items related to her and Qin Yun Sheng's memories, and true to form, it stirred up emotions in her. Back at the studio, Su Ying even wore glasses while working. Xu Ming Shi and others speculated if her eyes were red from crying. Cao Xiao Ye, acting as a representative, approached her to test the waters and indeed saw Su Ying's swollen eyes.
In the evening, Du Hui Xuan brought food to Su Ying and casually mentioned Qin Yun Sheng. Su Ying felt sad and took a bite of the food, surprised that it tasted just like what Qin Yun Sheng used to make. Du Hui Xuan denied it, but Su Ying became more and more sorrowful as she ate, and her eyes turned red again.
Su Ying went to the glass house and signed her name, being overwhelmed by emotions. She messaged Xu Ming Shi, suggesting they have a party at the KTV that night. Xu Ming Shi replied that there were no rooms available and suggested having it at the "Beer a Bit" place instead. Su Ying agreed. In the evening, when Su Ying arrived, she discovered that Director Ruan and others were also there, which made her very happy. They played a game of "pass the drum" and Xu Ming Shi claimed he lost. As a punishment, he had to kiss Du Hui Xuan, and Su Ying, witnessing the scene, became stunned once again.
Overall, individual character development outweighs the overall plot. The performances by the actors give each character their own uniqueness, but the screenwriters are still heavily criticized.
The designers can only depict characters superficially, and the doctors don't even have any medical scenes.
The original work by Zhang Xiaoxian was about the beauty of unrequited love and regret, with Mi Su as the enigmatic figure, Qin Yun Sheng as the one with persistent memories, and Su as the one whose love started and ended in secret. However, the adaptation here is a complete mess.
It would have been better to not use the shell of the remote setting and simply film a sweet little drama, especially since the sweet moments here are actually quite good.
So, the screenwriters still can't handle the complexities of human emotions and the unresolved sadness that unfolds in the story, so it's better not to make changes.
In the end, the main characters are truly well-portrayed, but they each excel in their own unique ways.
