Episode 6 recap: Su Ying went to a gathering with Qin Yun Sheng.
Su Ying came to the gathering with her friends for a dinner outside of their usual routine. Everyone could tell that Su Ying and Qin Yun Sheng were a couple, so they all discreetly tried to bring them closer together. During the gathering, Qin Yun Sheng even stepped in to protect Su Ying from drinking too much.
While playing games, they intentionally arranged for the two of them to get closer, even sharing a kiss. After the dinner, Qin Yun Sheng and Su Ying took a walk by the seaside. To ease the awkwardness, Su Ying lied, saying it was just a game and hoped that Qin Yun Sheng wouldn't mind. However, deep down, Su Ying was extremely happy.
As they walked together, Qin Yun Sheng and Su Ying had a thousand words on their minds but didn't know how to express them. Qin Yun Sheng hoped to stay in touch with Su Ying in the future, and Su Ying used the glass house as an excuse, saying Qin Yun Sheng could come and ask her anything anytime because the glass house had a lifetime warranty.
Meanwhile, at the gathering, everyone was having a great time. Su Ying's best friend, Huixuan, even drank too much, which worried her former colleague. When Su Ying went to play a game, she had to leave because she was feeling sick from drinking. Mingshi, concerned about Su Ying, followed her and took the opportunity to express his love for her while she was intoxicated. However, Su Ying didn't take it seriously and encouraged Mingshi to boldly pursue his own love, not considering herself as a potential love interest.
Mingshi helped the unconscious Su Ying back. The next morning, when Su Ying woke up, she found Mingshi on her bed. Startled, she kicked him off the bed. When she realized her clothes had been changed, she asked about the clothes and recalled that she had changed them herself. In fact, while Mingshi was taking care of her, Su Ying even willingly hugged him and left him on her bed.
Because she had consumed too much alcohol the night before, Su Ying couldn't remember what Mingshi had said to her at the seaside, but she felt that those words were very important. Mingshi, on the other hand, lacked the courage to say it again and was afraid of being rejected. Meanwhile, Su Ying was exercising at the gym when Zhang Yisen, a friend of Qin Yun Sheng, sent her a message, complaining about waking up with a sore back every day. Su Ying thought it might be due to his mattress and offered to help him choose a new one. She also took this opportunity to invite Qin Yun Sheng to join them, and together they went to the mall to select a mattress.
After returning to the company, Mingshi was absent-minded the whole time. He was worried that he had acted too impulsively that night. What if Su Ying remembered? Rejecting her confession might ruin their friendship as well. Colleagues noticed Mingshi's distraction and teased him about it. At that moment, Mingshi felt scared when he saw Su Ying's phone call, thinking it might be her. But it turned out Su Ying was just asking about something else, and Mingshi felt relieved.
Su Ying learned that Zhang Yisen had bought a mattress for the dormitory and assumed it was uncomfortable. She also bought a set for Qin Yun Sheng. Qin Yun Sheng deliberately arranged the mattress and pillows nicely, took a photo, and sent it to Su Ying to express his gratitude. As he lay on the mattress Su Ying bought for him, Qin Yun Sheng felt a warm and tender feeling. When Su Ying received Qin Yun Sheng's message, her heart was filled with warmth, and she couldn't help but smile. Su Ying could tell that something was off.
It turned out that Su Ying had come to find Mingshi to ask what she did when she was drunk that night. When Su Ying remembered that she had played a game and slapped Liu Zong, she became nervous and wanted to return to the TV station to see Liu Zong's reaction. Coincidentally, at that moment, Liu Zong was having a meeting with Su Ziyang. After seeing Su Ying, Liu Zong wanted to invite her to participate in the show again because the previous episode had received a good response. However, Su Ying could only participate in one episode, and there was no way around it. At this point, Liu Zong deliberately covered his face and pretended to be in pain. Su Ying had no choice but to agree to persuade Su Ziyang.
Mingshi thought Su Ying had come to ask about what happened that night and became nervous. Finally, he gathered the courage to confess his feelings, but at the critical moment, he became apprehensive and couldn't say it out loud. The next day, Liu Zong called the property owners to the TV station and invited both Su Ying and Su Ziyang to compete together to boost the show's ratings. The property owners were satisfied with the cost-effective suggestions proposed by Su Ying, despite Su Ziyang's expensive design.
I feel a bit complicated watching this drama. It should be the honeymoon phase, but now they've already broken up. Zhang Yun Long seems very serious, probably had long-term plans. Just mentioning it brings a smile to his face. I wonder how heartbroken he must have been later.
