Episode 16 recap: Li Ziyi returned to the palace.
The Crown Prince, excited to have encountered his old friend, brought him inside, much to the surprise of the Empress. The Crown Prince saw a girl and recognized her as the one he had encountered before. Li Ziyi went to see the Emperor, but suddenly someone grabbed him by the neck. The Crown Prince returned to the palace to meet the Empress and explained that he had encountered danger outside. The Empress criticized the lack of protection around the Crown Prince and called for punishments.
The Crown Prince explained that it was precisely because of this situation that he had managed to bring his old friend inside, which surprised the Empress even more to see that it was Li Ziyi and that he was alive. Li Ziyi expressed his intention to apologize, admitting that he hadn't realized the ambitions of the Bao Long Clan. He proposed to meet the Emperor and make amends, but the Empress disagreed, stating that the Crown Prince couldn't see the Emperor.
The Crown Prince and Li Ziyi left. The Crown Prince felt that the Empress was being very strict, making it difficult for him to meet the Emperor. Li Ziyi suggested that if the direct approach didn't work, they should try an indirect one. The Crown Prince encountered a girl and realized that she was the princess of the Kingdom of Gold, the one he was supposed to marry. The Crown Prince was overjoyed to discover that the girl he was going to marry was the one he truly loved.
The princess of the Kingdom of Gold informed the Crown Prince that she came to tell him that someone was plotting to poison him, and she overheard the ambassador conspiring with their King Chu. Li Ziyi secretly came to see the Emperor, who remained silent. As Li Ziyi entered, he noticed that the Emperor's arms were blue, giving off an eerie appearance. Suddenly, the Emperor grabbed Li Ziyi by the neck.
