Episode 2 recap: Tang Xiaolu marries Prince Wuji.
When it was Tang Xiaolu's turn to perform on stage, she twirled around after tearing off the silk fabric. However, she felt extremely dizzy and almost fell. Prince Wuji caught Tang Xiaolu and removed her mask, discovering that she was not actually dead. Now that Prince Wuji has removed Tang Xiaolu's mask, according to the rules, they are considered to have a predestined marriage.
Prince Xiao Shi approached Prince Wuji, and Prince Wuji was surprised to see him. Prince Xiao Shi expressed his trust in Prince Wuji but explained that the Emperor was seriously ill, and political power was in the hands of the Empress. Prince Xiao Shi felt like a mere pawn. Prince Wuji stated that his transformation from insignificance to Prince Wuji was to prove that the Dragon Clan did not assassinate anyone three years ago.
Prince Xiao Shi mentioned that loyal ministers to the Emperor either died mysteriously or became mentally unstable. He requested Prince Wuji's reinstatement and a thorough investigation of the matter. Prince Wuji agreed. Tang Xiaolu was about to marry Prince Wuji, and he did not refuse for the sake of their reputation. Tang Xiaolu arrived at Prince Wuji's residence, but he left her hanging there.
Tang Xiaolu approached Prince Wuji and asked why he treated her like this. Prince Wuji explained that they would be married because he removed her mask, but their marriage would be in name only, lacking substance.
