Episode 3 recap: The parents of Tang Xiaolu had an accident.
Prince Wuji approached Tang Xiaolu with an arrow in his hand, reminiscent of Li Ziyi. Tang Xiaolu turned over and started talking in her sleep, expressing her wish for Prince Wuji to like her more. Prince Wuji believed that the dead cannot be brought back to life and that Tang Xiaolu couldn't possibly be Li Ziyi. Tang Xiaolu approached Prince Wuji, and he expressed that they should establish three rules: to maintain a three-foot distance and not enter his room casually. Tang Xiaolu agreed and mentioned that it would soon be time to return to her family's home, inviting Prince Wuji to go with her. However, Prince Wuji disagreed, stating that they were only pretending to be a married couple. Tang Xiaolu had to go back alone, feeling upset that Prince Wuji really refused to accompany her. As Tang Xiaolu was about to enter, to her surprise, she saw Prince Wuji coming towards her, and she was very happy.
A maid came to open the door for Tang Xiaolu but didn't say anything, which puzzled her. After Tang Xiaolu entered, she found the room to be extremely dark, wondering why the lights weren't on. To her shock, Tang Xiaolu discovered that her parents were already dead. Suddenly, the maid appeared, let out a loud scream, took out a knife, and slit her own throat, causing her belly to explode.
Prince Wuji protected Tang Xiaolu, standing in front of her. Tang Xiaolu was extremely surprised that Prince Wuji would actually shield her.
