Episode 5 recap: Tang Xiaolu discovered a hidden compartment.

Mr. Li explained that there were many files, and he needed to organize them before allowing Prince Wuji to come and collect them in three days. Tang Xiaolu came to set up lanterns and met a girl by the river. The girl was surprised to see Tang Xiaolu and mistook her for Li Ziyi. Tang Xiaolu clarified that the girl had mistaken her identity and that she was Lin Mier, a former subordinate of Li Ziyi. Tang Xiaolu acknowledged the striking resemblance between herself and Li Ziyi.

Tang Xiaolu invited Lin Mier to visit her if she had free time. Tang Xiaolu resided in the house next to the Fate Tree. Meanwhile, Prince Wuji was watering the flowers there. A servant suggested that if Prince Wuji was concerned about Tang Xiaolu, he should go and check on her instead of merely watering the flowers. Prince Wuji came out and coincidentally saw Tang Xiaolu returning. Tang Xiaolu recalled a line of poetry, and Prince Wuji provided the next line, asking how she knew it.

Tang Xiaolu admitted that she didn't know either. She might have heard it somewhere before. A girl approached Prince Wuji, claiming to have come to seek his fortune-telling services for marriage. Prince Wuji noted the precious fragrance emanating from her and deduced from her birth chart that she had a lonesome fate. However, her birth chart could be suppressed by another person's. Tang Xiaolu secretly sneaked into Prince Wuji's room, hoping to find a piece of clothing there but accidentally triggered a mechanism.

Tang Xiaolu noticed the emergence of another hidden compartment on the other side.
