Episode 6 recap: Zhong Yi is accused of using excessive force during law enforcement.
Zhong Yi comes to find Li Chen and wants to know what happened when he received the phone call, what the other person said. Li Chen is unwilling to tell Zhong Yi, feeling that their daughter has already passed away, so what's the point of discussing these matters now. Zhong Yi expresses that if there is anything she can help with, Li Chen can come to her. Li Chen receives a phone call stating that there was an issue with the subsidy given earlier. It turns out there is another person with the same name as his daughter, and Li Chen made a mistake. The subsidy can only be received by those who are over 16 years old and have social security coverage.
Li Chen follows the instructions and transfers the money back. However, unexpectedly, the other person claims to know that Li Chen is broke and used his name to take out a loan. Li Chen is devastated, realizing that he has been deceived once again, and Zhong Yi happens to witness the situation. Zheng Daqian mentions that there have been numerous cases of funeral expense scams recently, and these people all arranged their funeral services through Jile Funeral Parlor. It is highly likely that the information was leaked from there. Zheng Daqian suggests going together with Zhong Yi to summon the suspect, Ge Ping'an.
Ge Ping'an happens to return and runs away upon seeing them. However, while running, Ge Ping'an accidentally missteps and falls directly from the stairs. Ge Ping'an claims that Zhong Yi pushed him, and his family members cause a commotion, insisting that Zhong Yi must take responsibility since their husband is now lying in the hospital. An inspection team also arrives to investigate the incident.
Scammers take advantage of the love parents have for their children. If a mother neglects her daughter, the scammer won't be able to make a single penny. Exploiting family bonds like this is often despicable, but it's understandable from the mother's perspective.
