Episode 19 recap: Chen Man Cang sought justice for the city lord.
Upon seeing these account books, Chen Man Cang realized that his boss had been falsifying records all along. The person in front of him then confessed everything. After reviewing all the evidence, Chen Man Cang and the city lord also discovered the news of Elder Wang's escape out of fear. They felt extremely infuriated and decided to take action.
However, their conversation inadvertently leaked out, and upon hearing the news, Elder Gu immediately ordered his subordinates to destroy the account books. The next day, the city lord's guards, accompanied by others, rushed to the store only to find it empty. When they confronted Elder Gu, they were taken aback by his prepared response, as he openly admitted to conducting honest business all along.

After their successful endeavors, Chen Man Cang planned to leave Changning City alone, but he unexpectedly learned that the city lord had been taken away.
