Episode 5 recap: Shen Xi came to Chen Mo Bai's place to work odd jobs.
Chen Mo Bai pretended to coincidentally encounter her. He had been following her since she left the hospital, all the way to the supermarket. In fact, Shen Xi had noticed Chen Mo Bai long ago but didn't say anything. Chen Mo Bai hoped that Shen Xi would come to work as an engineer on his side. Although the salary might not be high, it would still be better than working odd jobs at Ruifeng.
Shen Xi refused, and Chen Mo Bai couldn't understand. Shen Xi was clearly passionate about racing, yet she acted as if she had no interest. Chen Mo Bai hoped that Shen Xi would give him another chance, but Shen Xi still didn't agree. Others thought that Chen Mo Bai was proposing to Shen Xi and urged her to accept.
Shen Xi simply walked away. Chen Mo Fei came to the hospital because he was sick but didn't want to stay and receive treatment. He felt that there were still many things to take care of at his company and needed to go back first. Shen Xi's grandmother came out to use the restroom but ended up fainting there. The doctors and nurses quickly took Shen Xi's mother back, and Chen Mo Fei happened to see it.
Shen Xi stayed to take care of her mother. The doctor said that her mother needed surgery as soon as possible and couldn't delay any longer. Shen Xi said that she would find a way to pay for the surgery. Chen Mo Fei helped Shen Xi pay for the operation. Shen Xi chased after him to thank him and said that she would repay the money.
Chen Mo Fei thought that she didn't need to repay him if she really wanted to show gratitude, but she should consider the job transfer he had mentioned before. Shen Xi's cousin learned about this and thought that repaying money was easy, but repaying a favor was difficult. Since Chen Mo Fei had now solved Shen Xi's major problem, Shen Xi should also help Chen Mo Fei solve his major problem to truly repay the favor.
Shen Xi felt that what Chen Mo Fei wanted now was to have Chen Mo Bai return to Ruifeng. So she took time off and came to find Chen Mo Bai, hoping to persuade him to go back. Chen Mo Bai didn't want to, but instead, he tried to convince Shen Xi to work as an engineer on his side.
Shen Xi didn't agree, but in the end, Chen Mo Bai suggested that she work odd jobs at his place for ten days. He thought that by the end of it, Shen Xi might decide to stay here instead of going back to Ruifeng. Shen Xi initially didn't want to agree, but Chen Mo Bai asked if she was afraid of staying and falling in love with him, so Shen Xi agreed.
The next day, Shen Xi came over to Chen Mo Bai's place, and he introduced everyone to her. Shen Xi made coffee for everyone, which touched them all, as they finally had a working coffee machine. A customer came to get their car repaired, and Hao Yang mentioned a package deal for 28,000. The customer thought it was too expensive but eventually settled for 6,800.
Shen Xi pointed out that they didn't have a 28,000 package deal and that the customer's car was only a year old, so they didn't need the 6,800 package either. 3,800 would be enough. The customer chose the 3,800 package, which made Hao Yang quite frustrated, as he felt they were losing a few thousand yuan. Shen Xi believed in being truthful and practical.
Unexpectedly, the customer thought Shen Xi was honest and decided to become a member there. Hao Yang was very happy and agreed that being truthful and practical was indeed a good approach. Hou Zi, who was addicted to the internet, was seen by Chen Mo Bai as a computer genius. Zhao Ying Ning called Chen Mo Fei and asked why Chen Mo Bai hadn't returned to Ruifeng yet. Chen Mo Fei said that it would still take some time.
Chen Mo Bai asked Shen Xi to tidy up the warehouse, hoping that she would rediscover her passion by getting involved with car parts. Shen Xi wanted to reach for something high up, and it almost fell, but Chen Mo Bai came over and stopped it, accidentally damaging Shen Xi's watch.
While Shen Xi was organizing things, she fell asleep, and Chen Mo Bai took her glasses and bought her a new watch.
