Episode 6 recap: Chen Mo Bai learned about Shen Xi's background.
Shen Xi realized that her glasses were with Chen Mo Bai and asked him to return them. Chen Mo Bai thought they were just a regular pair of prescription glasses and asked why she valued them so much, wondering if they were a gift from a friend. Chen Mo Bai noticed that the employee number on the glasses belonged to Marcus and asked Shen Xi how she had it.
Shen Xi didn't answer. Chen Mo Bai found the number very familiar and went through his racing magazines when he returned home but couldn't find anything. Hao Yang mentioned Lin Shao Qian to Chen Mo Bai, and then he remembered where he had seen the number before. He found Lin Shao Qian's magazine and confirmed that it was him.
Chen Mo Bai thought Shen Xi was a racing enthusiast but didn't understand why she refused to admit it. While everyone was doing a thorough cleaning, Chen Mo Bai asked Shen Xi to accompany him to practice driving. Shen Xi saw a picture of her brother on the wall and Chen Mo Bai mentioned that Coach Li was the mentor for many people here, including himself. He and Shen Chuan could be considered fellow disciples.
It had just rained, and Shen Xi felt that the ground was slippery. She pointed out that if the tire pressure was too high, it could be dangerous when turning, so she asked someone to adjust it. Coach Li thought Shen Xi was knowledgeable, but she quickly claimed that she didn't know much. Coach Li asked if Shen Xi was Chen Mo Bai's girlfriend, saying that he had never brought a girl here before, but Shen Xi quickly denied it.
After Chen Mo Bai finished practicing driving and returned, Coach Li finally remembered where he had seen Shen Xi before. He called Chen Mo Bai over and showed him a photo they had taken with Shen Chuan at the time. The little girl in the picture was Shen Xi, Shen Chuan's younger sister.
Chen Mo Bai finally understood why Shen Xi had been rejecting him. Coach Li believed that since something had happened to Shen Chuan, his family wouldn't want to be involved with racing again, so it was understandable. There was a racing forum gathering, but Chen Mo Bai didn't want to go, so he asked Hao Yang to go on his behalf.
Hao Yang checked into a hotel using Chen Mo Bai's name, but unexpectedly, the room was specially arranged by Zhao Ying Ning, hoping to develop something with Chen Mo Bai.
Zhao Ying Ning was shocked when she saw Hao Yang and promptly kicked him out. Hao Yang circled back and said that all the rooms had been booked by the forum participants, and he really had nowhere to go. Zhao Ying Ning then allowed him to sleep on the couch. Chen Mo Bai apologized to Shen Xi, explaining that he now understood why she had rejected him. He admitted that it was his fault for pressuring her into doing things she didn't want to do and promised not to force her anymore in the future.
In her heart, Shen Xi thought that Chen Mo Bai hadn't really forced her; she also had a deep passion for racing, but she couldn't pursue it. Shen Xi had a few drinks and got drunk. Chen Mo Bai accompanied her back, but he didn't know where she lived. He took Shen Xi's phone and called her cousin.
While at Shen Xi's place, Chen Mo Bai noticed sodium chloride crystals. Shen Xi explained that they grew very slowly, just like her life had stagnated. The next day, Shen Xi woke up, and her cousin was there, saying that Chen Mo Bai had called her yesterday to ask her to take care of Shen Xi.
Chen Mo Bai didn't know what Shen Xi liked to eat, so he bought a table full of various breakfast items for her. He also brought her a pot of mung bean sprouts. Shen Xi received a phone call informing her that something had happened to her mother, so she hurried to the hospital.
Shen Xi's mother had a heart attack and needed immediate surgery. Shen Xi messaged Hao Yang to ask for time off, initially not wanting to tell Chen Mo Bai, but when he overheard, he quickly rushed over to support her and told her not to be afraid as he would be there for her. Fortunately, Shen Xi's mother's surgery went well, and she would soon be able to return to the hospital room.
Chen Mo Bai helped Shen Xi buy the necessary items, and she asked him why he had given her the bean sprouts. Chen Mo Bai explained that bean sprouts grow quickly, and when she looked at them, she wouldn't feel like her life was stagnating.
