Episode 11 recap: He Lan Xin Yue returned to Xue Luo.
Tai Chu agreed and quickly spread the portrait throughout the streets and alleys of Da Shang. The Crown Prince of Da Shang also saw the portrait and became very angry. He ordered people to keep an eye on the city gates, ready to capture Shang Guan Zui as soon as he returned. Tai Chu caught up with Shang Guan Zui and initially intended to kill him but ultimately couldn't bring himself to do it.
Tai Chu felt like he was a tree, and trees do not kill. When Tai Chu returned, he met Zhao Guang Ye and admitted that he hadn't killed Shang Guan Zui, unable to seek revenge for He Lan Xin Yue and Qing Bai.
Zhao Guang Ye didn't blame Tai Chu for it. He Lan Xin Yue heard the commotion caused by Tai Chu and came to see what was happening. Zhao Guang Ye didn't tell He Lan Xin Yue about the situation. Currently, Bei Rong demanded that Dong Lin hand over the Holy Maiden in exchange for a retreat. The ministers in the court believed that handing over the Holy Maiden was necessary to ensure their safety. He Lan Xin Yue approached Zhao Guang Ye and informed him that she had heard about Bei Rong's demand. Bei Rong offered to retreat if she surrendered herself. Zhao Guang Ye stated that even if they had no chance of winning this battle, he would fight. He asked He Lan Xin Yue not to say such things anymore.
Zhao Guang Ye believed it was already difficult for He Lan Xin Yue to come up with such a plan to create a rift between Shang Guan Zui and them. He asked her to stop blaming herself and to spare herself. Tai Chu was now deeply conflicted because he had entertained thoughts of killing. He could hardly maintain his human form anymore.
Meng Ji mentioned that she had seen Tai Chu's true form and brought snowwater from the mountains. Tai Chu had grown up there, and this substance should be nourishing for him.
Meng Ji said she had found a solution: Zhao Guang Ye could take advantage of this opportunity to control Tai Chu by having him drink Zhao Guang Ye's blood.
He Lan Xin Yue mentioned that Zhao Guang Ye had already helped her find many doctors, but none of them were able to cure her eyes. She wanted to return to Xue Luo, where there was a divine physician. However, the physician only treated gods and not humans, so others hadn't heard of him. She wanted to go find the divine physician to help her with her eyes.
Zhao Guang Ye wanted Tai Chu to accompany He Lan Xin Yue, but she believed Tai Chu should stay behind to assist Zhao Guang Ye. One of the subordinates asked if they should bring back the king, but Princess Qiu Yi believed that Zhao Guang Ye took him away to use him as leverage to mobilize their forces. This matter was a dilemma for both Zhao Guang Ye and them because he would be even more restless than they were.
Tai Chu approached Zhao Guang Ye, wanting to exchange his own eyes for He Lan Xin Yue's. He didn't want her to suffer any longer. Zhao Guang Ye explained that what He Lan Xin Yue desired was a pair of divine eyes that could see through heavenly secrets. Even if Tai Chu gave his eyes to her, they would be of no use to He Lan Xin Yue.
Tai Chu wanted to protect He Lan Xin Yue and felt that he often felt inadequate in doing so. He believed that in the future, the only person who could protect her would be Zhao Guang Ye. Zhao Guang Ye instructed He Lan Xin Yue to meet with Meng Ji, as Meng Ji might have a way to help Tai Chu continue protecting her.
Tai Chu approached Meng Ji, who suggested that Tai Chu drink a bowl of Zhao Guang Ye's blood to regain control. Tai Chu hesitated, feeling that he couldn't drink human blood. However, he believed that even without drinking it, he could still protect He Lan Xin Yue.
He Lan Xin Yue was on her way back to Xue Luo and felt that Zhao Guang Ye needed Tai Chu more now. She hoped that Tai Chu could assist Zhao Guang Ye wholeheartedly.
