Episode 2 recap: Save Zhao Guangye in the beginning.
The Northern Rong King must take the Snowfall Clan's Holy Maiden back. Helan Xueying, the sister of Helan Xinyue, took the place of the Holy Maiden and returned with the Northern Rong King. Helan Xueying came to the East Lin Palace to meet the Princess of the Northern Rong. The Northern Rong Princess stated that her sister had disfigured her brother's appearance, and if she couldn't find the Holy Maiden, they would not spare the entire Snowfall Clan.
Helan Xinyue told Taichu about these matters. Taichu said that Zhao Guangye brought him back, and if he was taken as Helan Xinyue, she would not be in danger. Helan Xinyue didn't expect that Taichu did all this for her. Taichu made the trees blossom here and asked Helan Xinyue if it looked good. Zhao Guangye happened to see it and thought that she was indeed the Holy Maiden. He didn't expect her to have such abilities.
Zhao Guangye said that he would issue an edict immediately, stating that they were the princesses of East Lin and that Taichu should not use such abilities on others in the future. Helan Xinyue returned with Taichu. Other princesses from different countries who were sent to East Lin came to see the two sisters who were found by the new East Lin King. Helan Xinyue also saw her sister, Helan Xueying, there.
Zhao Guangye also came and drove away these princesses, saying that they were just guests in East Lin, and the highest position in the harem belonged to these two princesses. Helan Xinyue found it strange that Helan Xueying clearly recognized her but didn't acknowledge her. After returning, Helan Xueying told the Northern Rong Princess that she hadn't seen Helan Xinyue.
Helan Xinyue said that she grew up alone in the temple since childhood without any family. They only came to find her when they wanted to use her ability to foresee the future. Helan Xinyue expressed her desire for freedom. When she discovered that Taichu looked exactly like her, she even thought about letting Taichu completely replace her so she could leave.
Helan Xinyue apologized to Taichu and said that they should accompany each other. No one should leave alone.
Zhao Guangye arranged another place for Helan Xinyue and took Taichu to a secret chamber. He said that many places outside were dangerous, and he basically lived here. He asked Taichu to stay here for a while until he found a safer place for him.
Helan Xinyue arrived at Taichu's location and felt that Zhao Guangye really trusted Taichu, as he revealed such a secretive place to him. Helan Xinyue found it strange that even though they looked exactly alike, Zhao Guangye believed Taichu was the Holy Maiden while she was considered a fake. Taichu explained that Zhao Guangye mentioned that although Helan Xinyue appeared gentle, her behavior was rude and her eyes were evasive, giving the impression that she had ulterior motives.
Helan Xinyue was frustrated upon hearing this. Suddenly, Zhao Guangye returned, and Helan Xinyue quickly hid under the bed. An assassin suddenly appeared, and Taichu stood in front of Zhao Guangye, stating that no one could harm him. Taichu even took an arrow for Zhao Guangye. Zhao Guangye wanted a physician to examine Taichu's injuries, but Taichu remembered what Helan Xinyue had said about not letting anyone see the marks on his body, so he blocked the view.
Zhao Guangye agreed not to call a physician and wanted to inspect the injuries himself. Taichu ran out, insisting that no one should see. In reality, Zhao Guangye had already noticed the corner of Helan Xinyue's clothing under the bed. He said that if the Holy Maiden stayed in East Lin, he would definitely protect her. However, if she left East Lin, he would not allow her to be exploited by people from other countries, and he would have no choice but to kill her.
Helan Xinyue was extremely worried and had no choice but to come out, pleading with Zhao Guangye not to kill Taichu.
