Episode 22 recap: Qiu Yi, the eldest Princess, seeks Zhao Guang Ye's help.
He Lan Xin Yue asserts that Shang Guan Zui trusts his own eyes the most and predicts that he will become the King of Da Shang. As a result, he becomes the King of Da Shang. He also predicts that he will be killed by Princess Dan Yang, so he remains constantly vigilant against her. He Lan Xin Yue believes that the rumors should be intensified.
Tai Chu is deeply reluctant to part with He Lan Xin Yue. He promises not to make her angry anymore and expresses his desire to stay with her. He Lan Xin Yue agrees and promises not to drive Tai Chu away anymore. Tai Chu is thrilled upon hearing this. He Lan Xin Yue calls Tai Chu over, stating that he is like the purest and clearest vegetation in the mountains and should not change his nature just because he has followed her down the mountain.
Tai Chu claims that Shang Guan Zui mistreats He Lan Xin Yue, causing her constant unhappiness. He believes it is Shang Guan Zui's fault, not He Lan Xin Yue's, and that she should not bear the burden alone.
He Lan Xin Yue remarks that only someone as heartless as Tai Chu would care whether she is happy or not. She spreads rumors that Dan Yang Princess plans to harm Shang Guan Zui, and now even Bei Rong Wang has become suspicious and comes to question Shang Guan Zui.
Shang Guan Zui realizes that Bei Rong Wang believes Tai Chu killed his son, and he is more eager to kill Tai Chu than Shang Guan Zui himself. This situation gives Shang Guan Zui an opportunity to eliminate them all at once. Bei Rong Wang summons Nan Chu Wang in the name of worshipping the Silkworm God, and Nan Chu Wang has no choice but to comply.
Qiu Yi, the eldest Princess, rushes to find Zhao Guang Ye and explains the situation. She calculates the distance and concludes that Nan Chu Wang must have arrived in the territory of Da Shang by now. Zhao Guang Ye suspects foul play and advises Qiu Yi to remain patient while he sends someone to gather more information.
Bei Rong Wang presents a national treaty to Nan Chu Wang, urging him to sign it and form an alliance with Nan Chu.
Prince Nan Chu refuses, stating that his sister is still in Dong Lin. When she went to Dong Lin initially, it was because she believed in him, so he cannot sign the treaty. Bei Rong Wang declares that since that's the case, Prince Nan Chu will have to stay here as a hostage.
Princess Qiu Yi seeks Zhao Guang Ye's help, hoping he can dissolve the alliance. She is willing to return the six cities, and even if they dissolve the alliance, Nan Chu will never launch an attack on Dong Lin. He Lan Xin Yue arrives and believes that the proposal is impractical. Princess Qiu Yi mentions that Tai Chu once helped her save Ye Wang and hopes that Tai Chu can assist her again this time.
Bei Rong Wang believes that now that they have Prince Nan Chu in their hands, both Nan Chu and Dong Lin will be under their control. Shang Guan Zui asserts that this time they won't let any of them escape. Tai Chu wants to go, but Zhao Guang Ye disagrees, suspecting that Shang Guan Zui will be prepared.
Zhao Guang Ye decides to go himself because everything Bei Rong Wang has done is for them. He realizes that he cannot avoid this battle and believes it's better for him to go and see what kind of trap lies ahead. Zhao Guang Ye requests the assistance of Princess Qiu Yi's secret guards.
The army sets off, and Zhao Guang Ye's group follows suit. Tai Chu investigates and finds that Prince Nan Chu is bound in the open space within the city, where no grass grows within ten zhang. Thus, Tai Chu cannot use his stealth abilities to sneak in. Tai Chu wants to try again, but Zhao Guang Ye states that this situation was prepared with Tai Chu in mind, and it is impossible for him to go.
Princess Qiu Yi sees this as a dead end and decides to go herself because Prince Nan Chu is her younger brother, and it is her responsibility. However, He Lan Xin Yue stops Princess Qiu Yi and advises her not to act impulsively.
