Episode 9 recap: He Lan Xin Yue's eyes were blinded by poison.

Qing Bai made up her mind and took the fake death pill. Prince Bei Rong came to see Qing Bai and they had an argument. Qing Bai appeared dead, making Prince Bei Rong believe that he had caused her death. Prince Bei Rong went to apologize to King Bei Rong, who dismissed the matter, considering it just the death of a proton and told Prince Bei Rong not to worry.

Tai Chu came to find Qing Bai and took her away, indicating that they had left and Qing Bai could wake up. However, Qing Bai started bleeding poison. Tai Chu realized that He Lan Xin Yue's prophecy had come true. He Lan Xin Yue thought it wouldn't be easy for Tai Chu to take both of them away, so he went out with Shang Guan Zui and asked Tai Chu to take Qing Bai instead. However, Shang Guan Zui blinded He Lan Xin Yue's eyes with poison.

Shang Guan Zui revealed that he had initially lured He Lan Xin Yue with fine wine and intriguing stories to make him stay. It was all for this day. He Lan Xin Yue realized that his own foolishness had led him to believe the wrong person and caused the current situation, harming Qing Bai as well.

Before Qing Bai took the fake death pill, He Lan Xin Yue saw him wearing the attire of the Prince of Da Shang and knew that he was the prince of Da Shang. Qing Bai admitted that the fake death pill was indeed real, but she had tampered with the bottle containing the pill. Shang Guan Zui mentioned that the Princess of Dong Lin had died in Bei Rong, and Dong Lin would not rest until they got their revenge. He planned to deliver He Lan Xin Yue to Bei Rong, as the prince of Bei Rong had been searching for him. It would undoubtedly lead to a conflict between the two nations, and Shang Guan Zui would benefit from it.

He Lan Xin Yue did not expect Shang Guan Zui to be so malicious and stated that if Shang Guan Zui didn't die, peace would never be achieved in this world.

He Lan Xin Yue was brought to Bei Rong. He knew that security was tight here, and with his blinded eyes, escaping was nearly impossible.

Prince Bei Rong came to see He Lan Xin Yue and expressed that the fire had caused him great pain. If he couldn't live in peace, He Lan Xin Yue shouldn't expect to either. He Lan Xin Yue stated that he didn't start the fire but had foreseen it, which was why he wanted to leave.

He Lan Xin Yue asked Prince Bei Rong to let him go and in return, he would reveal who started the fire. Prince Bei Rong refused and ordered his men to beat He Lan Xin Yue, but he still refused to say anything. He Lan Xin Yue's sister came to see him, bringing him food and medication. She assured him that their father would come to rescue him soon and asked him to endure a few more days.

He Lan Xin Yue realized that he had always disliked his current identity, but now he had lost the identity he relied on. He was determined to survive and make that person pay. His sister believed that if hatred could keep him alive, then he should hold onto that hatred.

Tai Chu came to find He Lan Xin Yue, and he was thrilled to see him. He explained that Shang Guan Zui was behind all of this and urged Tai Chu to seek revenge on him.

Prince Bei Rong arrived and was surprised to learn that He Lan Xin Yue had withheld the identity of the person responsible. He Lan Xin Yue revealed that it was Shang Guan Zui and explained that the purpose of the fire was to provoke a conflict between the two nations, allowing their country to benefit.

Tai Chu took He Lan Xin Yue and left. Prince Bei Rong declared his intention to seek revenge on Shang Guan Zui.
