Episode 10 recap: Many boatmen have died.
Gu Xinghe ate the food that was delivered to him and suddenly felt very hot, but fortunately, nothing happened. Bao Rou Rou thought that the food was sent by Zhao Bu Tou and suspected it might be poisoned. Wang Bu Liu Xing found it unlikely and suggested that it could be poison from the magistrate. Lu Qing Er mentioned seeing the magistrate acting suspiciously. Lu Qing Er wondered why only Bao Rou Rou didn't get poisoned since they all ate together and asked who Bao Rou Rou really was.
Gu Xinghe stated that Bao Rou Rou was his person and it was not Lu Qing Er's place to question her. Another boatman died, so Gu Xinghe came to investigate and found that it was likely poisoning, with symptoms related to their own illnesses. The culprit knew them very well. Gu Xinghe discovered a book in Li Heng's possession that documented a type of snake venom. He called Li Heng over to inquire about it. Li Heng explained that the book was written by his master, who passed away before completing it. Li Heng wanted to help finish it but didn't know what the snake looked like.
Gu Xinghe asked Li Heng to return and leave the book behind. Now Wang Ren has died, and the people have come to protest, claiming that the court has angered the gods and this is divine punishment. Bao Rou Rou believed it could be the work of Qian You Yu. However, someone approached them and informed them that Qian You Yu had gone mad. Bao Rou Rou found it too coincidental.
