Episode 13 recap: Gu Xinghe is in trouble.
Bao Rou Rou asked Gu Xinghe to take her to Shengjing, but Gu Xinghe wanted to continue delaying. Bao Rou Rou felt that Gu Xinghe was just deceiving her. Bao Rou Rou could only explain that Yi Qi Feng already knew about her being a mermaid, so he didn't bring her along. Bao Rou Rou didn't expect that Gu Xinghe already knew and asked if he wasn't afraid.
Gu Xinghe stated that he had suspicions from the beginning, and later whether Bao Rou Rou was a mermaid or not didn't matter to him anymore. Gu Xinghe kissed Bao Rou Rou. Bao Rou Rou still wanted to go to Shengjing and went to find Lu Qing Er to go together. Meanwhile, Yi Qi Feng was painting a portrait of a mermaid but, due to missing Lu Qing Er too much, he replaced the mermaid's face with Lu Qing Er's face.
Yi Qi Feng threw away the portrait, and his subordinate Shen Huan saw it and wanted to capture Lu Qing Er to gain merit. Gu Xinghe noticed that Bao Rou Rou was missing and quickly chased after her, joining her and the others. Shen Huan followed and tried to capture Lu Qing Er. Gu Xinghe had no choice but to kill him. The assassins from the blacksmith shop arrived, and Gu Xinghe was outnumbered. He was injured by them.
Bao Rou Rou took Gu Xinghe and jumped into the water, escaping to another place. Gu Xinghe asked Bao Rou Rou if she wanted to be with him because she liked him. Bao Rou Rou said that initially, she was worried about unrequited love, but now she genuinely liked Gu Xinghe.
