Episode 1 recap: Su Wei An sought help from Jiang Mu Ying at the police station.
The male protagonist, Gu Yun Zheng (played by Luo Yun Xi), was working as a doctor in Lacaya. He had been here for over 400 days and had just returned from a surgery in another location. As soon as he landed, he hurriedly prepared to return to the hospital because there was another surgery waiting for him. Gu Yun Zheng kept making phone calls to inquire about the patients' conditions so that he could start the surgery as soon as possible.
Su Wei An (played by Zhang Ruo Nan) was also in Lacaya as a businesswoman. This time, she bought a batch of Maotai to sell to tourists. Coincidentally, a group of Chinese tourists arrived, and after exchanging a glance with the tour guide, she successfully sold the Maotai. In fact, she had already made arrangements with the guide. Gu Yun Zheng went outside to get a taxi, but there were no suitable cars at the door. Su Wei An overheard him speaking Chinese and learned that he was Chinese, so she offered to give him a ride for $100. Gu Yun Zheng readily gave her the money, but to his surprise, Su Wei An's vehicle turned out to be a motorcycle.
When Su Wei An took off her sunglasses, she immediately recognized Gu Yun Zheng as her former teacher. Su Wei An felt embarrassed but reluctantly gave Gu Yun Zheng a ride. However, they encountered heavy traffic on the way, and Gu Yun Zheng was pressed for time. Su Wei An took a shortcut, and fortunately, they arrived at the hospital in time. Gu Yun Zheng didn't have much time to talk to Su Wei An and hurriedly went to the operating room to prepare for surgery.
By that time, Gu Yun Zheng's colleagues had already started the most difficult surgery. Gu Yun Zheng quickly took over and continued the operation. Due to his haste, Gu Yun Zheng accidentally left his belongings in Su Wei An's car. Su Wei An hadn't left and wanted to return his belongings to him as soon as possible.
While Su Wei An was at the entrance, she received a call from Jiang Mu Ying, informing her that she had arrived in Lacaya. In reality, Su Wei An hadn't been studying in France for the past three years; she had been in Lacaya all along. If her mother found out, the consequences would be unimaginable. Su Wei An was preparing to pick up Jiang Mu Ying when she witnessed a series of car accidents. It reminded her of a car accident that happened in the past, which had deeply affected her.
At this moment, the people nearby had already taken the patient out of the car. After Su Wei An regained her composure, she quickly began resuscitating the patient. Fortunately, the timely rescue was successful. Su Wei An used white wine to disinfect the patient. When she was about to leave on her bike, she discovered that her bike was missing. Furthermore, the police took her away, accusing her of performing a cranial operation without authorization.
Gu Yun Zheng looked at his wristband and learned that a patient had been sent to him. He hurriedly performed the surgery, which was made easier because Su Wei An had already handled it. Gu Yun Zheng admired the person who had provided emergency care to the patient, as they were able to determine the bleeding location without a CT scan.
Su Wei An paid the police a considerable amount of money to make a phone call. She quickly called Jiang Mu Ying and asked her to go to the hospital to find a patient who had just been admitted. The distinctive feature was that the patient had a hole drilled in their head after consuming alcohol. Su Wei An instructed Jiang Mu Ying to bring the attending physician, as it would prove her innocence and that she was not a murderer.
Jiang Mu Ying quickly arrived at the hospital and prepared to find the lead surgeon. She learned from a nurse that the surgeon's name was Gu Yun Zheng, and she pleaded with the nurse to bring him over. Coincidentally, she encountered a neurosurgeon and asked him to accompany her to meet Gu Yun Zheng.
Just as they were about to proceed, Gu Yun Zheng walked up from behind them. Jiang Mu Ying quickly briefed Gu Yun Zheng on the situation, and he expressed his willingness to help. Upon reaching the police station, Gu Yun Zheng and Su Wei An locked eyes, both surprised to see each other.
After learning that Su Wei An was a doctor, Gu Yun Zheng reprimanded her for her reckless actions. After hearing Su Wei An's name, Gu Yun Zheng remembered that she had once delayed an exam due to saving someone's life. Gu Yun Zheng asked Su Wei An why she dropped out of school, and she simply replied that she didn't want to study anymore.
Since Su Wei An didn't have any extra money, she had to borrow money from Gu Yun Zheng to post bail. Jiang Mu Ying and Su Wei An went to eat together, with Jiang Mu Ying wanting to know if Su Wei An had feelings for Gu Yun Zheng. However, Su Wei An was not currently concerned about such matters.
Jiang Mu Ying also asked Su Wei An why she dropped out of school, and Su Wei An made up an excuse that she didn't want to study medicine. Jiang Mu Ying speculated that it might be because of the accident that happened years ago, but Su Wei An neither confirmed nor denied it, only mentioning that she needed a lot of money now.
Jiang Mu Ying suggested that she and Su Wei An could earn money together since she had just quit her job. Su Wei An had originally planned to deliver the wine to the general's house, but because she had used it to save someone, she didn't have any extra bottles. Surprisingly, people from the general's house showed up and caused a commotion, completely wrecking Su Wei An's home. They decided not to return home tonight.
Now that Su Wei An couldn't go home at night, Jiang Mu Ying suddenly remembered a job opening she had seen at the hospital. Perhaps Su Wei An could work there as a French translator. It would be a safe place for her to hide.
