Episode 3 recap: Sakun was injured, and Gu Yun Zheng stitched him up in the dark.
Gu Yun Zheng went to see Sakun, who was in a bad mood. Gu Yun Zheng had to cheer him up, and Sakun really liked him and even called him "dad," which surprised Gu Yun Zheng. Su Wei An then came over to explain that Sakun had never received love and affection since he was young, so when he saw someone treating him well, he would call them "dad" or "mom."
Gu Yun Zheng originally wanted to examine Sakun, but Sakun resisted. He disliked injections and taking medicine. Gu Yun Zheng reassured Sakun that his condition would be treatable in the future. Su Wei An also wondered if all illnesses could truly be treated. With Su Wei An's reassurance, Sakun was willing to cooperate with Gu Yun Zheng for the examination.
In the following days, Sakun was very cooperative, so Gu Yun Zheng planned to take him out to play. Su Wei An, dressed to avoid any gossip, also joined them. The three of them had a great time playing on the beach. Su Wei An took Sakun to a famous street food market, and suddenly a motorcycle came rushing towards them. Su Wei An nearly got hit while trying to protect Sakun, but Gu Yun Zheng quickly stepped in to shield her. Su Wei An suddenly remembered how Gu Yun Zheng had helped prove her innocence when she was late for an exam because she was saving someone. In that moment, Su Wei An developed feelings for Gu Yun Zheng.
Su Wei An bought fried bugs initially to tease Gu Yun Zheng, but he discovered it anyway, and they ended up playing around with each other. When they were preparing to return together in the evening, Sakun accidentally fell and injured his wrist, causing it to bleed. Su Wei An knew that Sakun had poor blood clotting function, so they had to return quickly to stop the bleeding.
After Su Wei An and Gu Yun Zheng returned, they immediately began treating Sakun. Su Wei An assisted Gu Yun Zheng, but just as they were about to suture the wound, the hospital suddenly experienced a power outage. Jiang Mu Ying, who was in the room, got scared. She happened to encounter Fang Ming Fan outside, and they had a pleasant conversation. Jiang Mu Ying considered Fang Ming Fan as her good friend.
Su Wei An used a flashlight to provide illumination for Gu Yun Zheng, and he quickly finished suturing the wound. However, Su Wei An suddenly experienced low blood sugar and almost collapsed. Gu Yun Zheng quickly supported her. Just as the power came back on, Gu Yun Zheng heard Su Wei An's stomach growling. He then personally cooked noodles for her for the night.
Su Wei An watched as Gu Yun Zheng put two eggs in her noodles and it reminded her of her father, whom she didn't have. Gu Yun Zheng thought Su Wei An dropped out of school because of her father, but Su Wei An immediately denied it and said she did it to make money.
However, Gu Yun Zheng didn't believe her. He thought Su Wei An was willing to be treated as a murderer in order to treat patients, and Su Wei An didn't offer any explanation. Just as the two were eating noodles, Jiang Mu Ying and Fang Ming Fan also arrived. Su Wei An quickly hid under the table, and Jiang Mu Ying called her. Su Wei An's phone vibrated, but luckily Gu Yun Zheng reacted quickly and managed to get rid of the two.
When Su Wei An was about to leave, she dropped her notebook on the ground. Gu Yun Zheng looked at its contents and discovered that Su Wei An kept meticulous records of every expense. Gu Yun Zheng couldn't understand why Su Wei An gave up on studying medicine, but Su Wei An still didn't tell the truth and only said that making money was her main goal now.
Back in the room, Gu Yun Zheng thought about how Su Wei An held the flashlight for him, but he was increasingly unable to understand Su Wei An. Du Yun Cheng was still thinking about how to make money from patients and only cared about making money at the pharmaceutical company. After work, Du Yun Cheng took the financial statements back home to show his grandfather, but his grandfather was only concerned about watering the flowers. His grandfather actually only cared about Gu Yun Zheng and didn't care at all about Du Yun Cheng's achievements.
His grandfather had always prevented Du Yun Cheng's mother from entering the old house and didn't like Du Yun Cheng at all. When Du Yun Cheng returned home, his father asked if he had been in contact with his younger brother, but Du Yun Cheng didn't say anything.
His father was always concerned about Du Yun Cheng not being able to use a scalpel, so Du Yun Cheng made an excuse and went back to his room. In fact, Du Yun Cheng had once liked Su Wei An and even confessed to her in college, but Su Wei An had simply left.
