Ran Shu exposed her ex-husband's murder in front of everyone at the art exhibition. Zhang Ze Yi was taken aback and felt that his crime had been exposed. However, being mentally strong, he quickly regained control over his facial expressions. At that moment, everyone heard news of someone's death and hastily fled. Zhang Ze Yi was curious about why Ran Shu appeared at the art exhibition.
Ran Shu told Zhang Ze Yi that today was his thirtieth birthday, so how could she not be present? Ran Shu questioned Zhang Ze Yi, stating that even though he used to claim to love her, love didn't give him the right to escape from his own life or serve as an excuse for hurting and controlling her. She also mentioned that the ordinary life he currently led came at a great cost.
Ran Shu interrogated Zhang Ze Yi, asking him why he wanted to ruin his own life. She revealed that all those explicit love letters from Gu Ru Yue to Zhang Ze Yi were written by herself. Ran Shu felt that she used to love Zhang Ze Yi deeply, but he didn't cherish it, and now there was no one who loved him. Zhang Ze Yi began to lose control and believed that everyone around him was a deceiver and wanted to harm Ran Shu.
Zhang Ze Yi's emotions collapsed for a moment. The night before the art exhibition, when Gu Yi Bai came to find Ran Shu, he discovered the discarded love letters. He realized that it was all a deception, and Ran Shu might be deceiving him. However, Ran Shu set up a cake, feeling that she was about to be liberated and that everything was coming to an end, celebrating her rebirth.
When Ran Shu was young, the Gu family wanted to adopt her, but she couldn't bear to leave Gu Ru Yue. She pleaded with the orphanage director to let them both be adopted together. However, Gu Ru Yue only overheard that her sister wanted to abandon her and didn't hear the rest of the conversation. Consequently, she held a grudge against her sister. From then on, Gu Ru Yue chose to isolate Ran Shu, even going as far as to hurt her.
