Episode 2 recap: Gu Ruyue seduces Zhang Zeyi.
Ran Shu pretends to interview Zhang Zeyi, intending to use his detective novel "Ear Piercing" to create a closer bond between them. Zhang Zeyi finds it amusing and doesn't have any special feelings about the book he wrote. He sees it as a mystery novel and advises not to take it too seriously. He then jokingly mentions that Ran Shu's earlobe might resemble the earlobe of the protagonist he wrote about in his novel.
Ran Shu, feeling somewhat probing, asks Zhang Zeyi if he believes there are people in real life who can predict the future and if what one imagines in dreams can happen in reality. Zhang Zeyi suddenly feels that Ran Shu is a bit peculiar. How could she guess the protagonist of his next book? Ran Shu doesn't answer and leaves. Back at home, Zhang Zeyi sees that Ran Shu has pierced her ears and his expression becomes strange. He angrily comments that she has become strange and even uglier after getting her ears pierced.
Ran Shu feels uncomfortable when she hears her husband saying her ears are small and that the earrings look odd on her. She wants to take off the earrings, but her husband disagrees. Zhang Zeyi tells Ran Shu that he will always love her as long as she takes things seriously. Ran Shu realizes that Zhang Zeyi wants to control her life. As she looks at her notes, she remembers how Gu Ruyue caused her to lose her hands when they were children and how she was adopted by the Gu family, who constantly flaunted their success. Ran Shu decides to seek revenge.
As someone who just finished taking wedding photos yesterday, watching dramas of this kind evokes indescribable emotions in me. Seeing the scene where Ran Shu is brutally whipped by her husband with a belt made me wonder if I would ever encounter such a situation with my own husband in the future.
If it really happened, what would I do? Ran Shu made her own choice and, with her cleverness and strategic thinking, successfully freed herself from her husband. But how many of us can do what she did? To all my sisters out there, marriage is not easy, so cherish it every step of the way.
Especially for those men who may engage in pickup artist behavior or domestic violence, I hope you can also watch this drama!
