Episode 20 recap: Gu Yibai wants to redeem Ran Shu.
When Ran Shu was about to resign on her own initiative, she saw Gu Yibai coming to find her. Gu Yibai wanted Ran Shu to give him some time. He felt that Ran Shu was no longer interviewing him, so there was no need to call him "Teacher Gu" anymore. Besides, he felt obligated to reduce the guilt on behalf of his sister, who had been harmed by Ran Shu. Ran Shu didn't see any connection between these matters and Gu Yibai. Moreover, Gu Yibai was not directly involved, and adults should take responsibility for their actions.
Although Gu Ruyue admitted her mistake, she was also a victim in this matter. Now that she's gone, Ran Shu doesn't want to blame anyone anymore. Seeing Gu Yibai hesitating to speak, she urged him to say it directly. Gu Yibai asked Ran Shu for a favor. Through some inquiries, Gu Yibai learned that Ran Shu and Gu Ruyue were actually sisters, and when they were young, Gu Ruyue caused an injury to Ran Shu's hand. That's why their family adopted Gu Ruyue.
Gu Yibai wants to redeem Ran Shu in his own way. Ran Shu goes to Gu Ruyue's grave and recalls the words she said to her before. In her heart, Ran Shu firmly resolves to live well. Gu Yibai expresses his sympathy for Ran Shu's past experiences but believes that she shouldn't seek revenge in this manner.
Gu Yibai wants to talk to Ran Shu about precognitive dreams. Upon hearing these words, Ran Shu is momentarily stunned.
