Episode 22 recap: Ran Shu plotted for years to kill Gu Ruyue.
During their university years, Gu Ruyue not only seized the opportunity that Ran Shu had worked so hard to obtain, but also discarded it like trash. Gu Ruyue mocked the things Ran Shu had painstakingly acquired, considering them worthless in her presence. Ran Shu felt her dignity being trampled upon. She believed that instead of enduring constant humiliation, it would be better for Gu Ruyue to die early. This incident fueled her inner hatred.
The next day, Ran Shu approached Zhang Zeyi and agreed to his confession of love. Ran Shu intended to use Zhang Zeyi to end Gu Ruyue's life. Zhang Zeyi was delighted upon hearing Ran Shu's acceptance, unaware that she was secretly plotting a bigger plan in her heart. Ran Shu felt that everything was now over. As Ran Shu stepped out, she was surrounded by people, and Gu Ruyue's friends blamed her for Gu Ruyue's death.
When Gu Yibai learned that Gu Ruyue's fans were causing trouble for Ran Shu, he felt that Ran Shu could seek his help. Ran Shu, however, felt indifferent at this point, believing that no one could harm her anymore. Gu Yibai regarded it as his sister's own fault and felt responsible for dealing with the trouble. In fact, Gu Yibai had developed some feelings for Ran Shu.
Gu Yibai believed that Ran Shu's life should return to normal, and he was willing to accompany her in correcting the mistakes of the past. While pouring water, Gu Yibai burned his hand, and Ran Shu asked him to tend to it.
