Episode 24 recap: The Liuli Gang helped Yunyi retrieve her father's bracelet.
Yunyi asked the shopkeeper to keep the bracelet for her. When she returned, she hurriedly went to get the money, with her sole intention being to buy back the bracelet. However, when she brought the money over, she learned from the shopkeeper that it had already been sold. The customer who bought it had already left, and she couldn't find them. Yunyi returned home feeling very sad. Upon learning about the situation, Liuli wanted to find Yunyi, but Yunyi refused to open the door.
Later, Liuli went to find the shopkeeper to inquire about the situation and learned that a man had purchased the bracelet. Zhang Min Niang came to find Aichongyu. Initially, she was not allowed to enter, but Zhang Min Niang insisted on barging in. However, Aichongyu remained cold towards her. Finally, after Zhang Min Niang's pleading, Aichongyu agreed to let her stay.
After returning home, Aichongyu's parents worried about Zhang Min Niang's situation. In fact, they wanted Aichongyu to agree to the marriage with Zhang Min Niang. Yunyi was angry because she couldn't buy the bracelet and Liuli was tirelessly helping her find it. Pei Xingjian also came over after learning about the situation and advised Liuli not to spoil Yunyi.
When Liuli returned, Yunyi quickly approached her to inquire. Liuli said that a Han Chinese man had bought the bracelet, along with several other items. He might be a businessman planning to sell them in Chang'an. Yunyi cared so much about the bracelet because it was something her father had left behind. However, due to their previous displacement, the bracelet was lost. Yunyi pleaded with Liuli to help her find it, and Liuli assured her that she would do everything possible.
Soon, they found the merchant who had bought the bracelet. At first, the merchant was unwilling to sell the bracelet and even considered it as their engagement token. Yunyi became anxious upon hearing this, but Liuli continued to advocate for Yunyi and suggested exchanging something in return. Subsequently, Liuli went out first.
Liuli hurriedly returned home and wanted to give the jade pendant that Empress Wu had given them to the newlywed couple. Pei Xingjian didn't hesitate and directly gave the item to Liuli. The jade pendant had more significance compared to the bracelet, and the couple agreed to the exchange.
Yunyi didn't expect that Liuli would give precious items to others in exchange for her. She was deeply moved. Inside the workshop, Liuli observed the workers spinning. They were facing some problems, and Liuli thought of ways to help them. The weather was getting hotter, and the quality of the textiles wasn't as good as expected. Liuli discussed some humble matters with Aichongyu and came up with a good solution. By utilizing feng shui, they could improve the fabric. In fact, Liuli had the intention to help San Niang open a workshop, but this matter required Aichongyu's approval. Liuli chose a location that wasn't in the city center. Initially, Aichongyu had some concerns, but he eventually accepted the idea.
Pei Xingjian was currently worried about his mentor's situation. Someone was causing trouble for them, resulting in a shortage of provisions. Pei Xingjian wanted to help his mentor and planned to assess the situation. Soon, Pei Xingjian, accompanied by Aichongyu, transported the provisions to the Three Kingdoms and encountered a 40,000-strong army in the north. Pei Xingjian approached the enemy alone as bait, while Sunan Jin set up an ambush from behind. That night, they encountered the enemy forces, and Pei Xingjian set their vehicles on fire. The northern army quickly fled in chaos. This operation cost them minimal casualties and ensured the majority of the provisions were saved, providing ample food for the reinforcements.
Pei Xingjian asked Aichongyu to deliver a letter for him. When Liuli saw the new construction, she learned that her husband's situation had stabilized, which reassured her. Next, Aichongyu needed to secure more provisions. When Yunyi arrived, she saw Aichongyu preparing to leave. They exchanged a glance, and Yunyi wanted to know if they had won the battle. However, Aichongyu didn't provide a satisfactory answer at the moment.
Aichongyu recognized the woman as the red-clothed lady whom Pei Xingjian had saved that day. He then asked Wang Junmeng to investigate further.
