Episode 29 recap: Yun Yi and Ai Chongyu's love affair was set.
For a long time, Wang Jun Meng had been delivering messages for Ai Chongyu to Liuli. However, when Yun Yi saw Zhang Min Niang at the door, they started arguing with each other again. Zhang Min Niang naturally refused to back down and wanted Yun Yi to give up on Ai Chongyu. However, Yun Yi didn't care about Ai Chongyu's legal wife at all.
In fact, Zhang Min Niang could tell that when Wang Jun Meng mentioned delivering wine to Liuli, it was actually on behalf of Ai Chongyu to Yun Yi. After Liuli's recovery, she really wanted to go out, so Pei Xing Jian, still concerned, brought Han Si to check on her. Once Han Si confirmed that Liuli was fine, Pei Xing Jian finally felt relieved.
Liuli was still cooking in the kitchen. The meals she had been eating for the past few months were too plain, so she wanted to cook something delicious for herself. Liuli also knew about Xiao Tan's feelings for A Cheng, so she planned to choose a good day to celebrate their joy. After Liuli finished cooking, she let Yun Yi taste the food and also brought the wine that Ai Chongyu personally gave her. Yun Yi immediately recognized it as wine from her hometown.
Actually, Liuli was still worried that Ai Chongyu and Yun Yi might not be a suitable match. Although Ai Chongyu currently had feelings for her, he had a wife, and he was a very loyal person. Liuli was concerned that Yun Yi might suffer in the future because of this. However, Yun Yi believed that even if Ai Chongyu didn't love her now and chose to return to his wife, she didn't care. As long as they could be together now, it was enough, and she would never regret it.
Liuli waited for Pei Xing Jian to finish his work and come back at night. Pei Xing Jian mentioned that he had just met a young master and asked Liuli to accompany him to meet the person. This young master had become a trusted subordinate of General Ashina in just a few years, and he had changed his name several times. The court didn't care about his past actions as long as he could contribute to the army.
He had been sentenced for a serious crime of harming officials in the past, but now they could coexist peacefully, which was quite remarkable. Pei Xing Jian took Liuli to meet this man named Fang Lie. Soon, Miss Liu also arrived, and at first glance, she recognized him as her long-thought-of cousin. Their eyes met, and Fang Lie recognized her too.
Pei Xing Jian and Liuli also left, leaving the two of them to catch up. They had experienced so much together, and finally being able to reunite was a rare occurrence for them. However, both of them always believed that they would meet again. At first, Fang Lie was worried that his current appearance would bother Miss Liu, but she didn't care about such things at all.
Xiao Tan watched the moon while A Cheng draped his clothes over her, simply because he didn't want her to catch a cold. Miss Liu was very grateful to be able to meet her cousin again. Fang Lie wanted to win the war and then bring Miss Liu back to Chang'an to get married, but she knew that their current identities meant they couldn't be together for now. Fang Lie didn't care about status, as long as he could be with Miss Liu.
Now, with a major battle approaching, Pei Xing Jian and Liuli felt that it would be safer for Yun Yi to be sent back. However, even if they sent her back now, they wouldn't make it in time for Yun Yi's father's funeral. Unbeknownst to them, Yun Yi had been eavesdropping at the door and couldn't help but shed tears. Miss Liu and Fang Lie still held their wedding ceremony, but Yun Yi, who learned of her father's death, appeared desolate throughout the entire event. Ai Chongyu had been paying close attention to Yun Yi's state.
Later, Ai Chongyu suddenly discovered that Yun Yi was missing. Yun Yi usually liked to wear colorful clothes, but today she was dressed very plainly, and she, who usually enjoyed lively atmospheres, seemed unusually calm. Ai Chongyu searched everywhere for Yun Yi, suspecting that she had learned of her father's death. Finally, he found Yun Yi, and she leaned on his shoulder, feeling very sad. Yun Yi expressed that she didn't want to go back, and Ai Chongyu took the opportunity to confess his feelings to her. Yun Yi embraced Ai Chongyu.
Six years quickly passed, and under Pei Xing Jian's governance, the entire Western Region had submitted to the rule of the Tang Dynasty.
