Episode 1 recap: Li Yi and Cui Lin engaged in continuous combat.

General Li Yi of the Zhenxi Army led a multitude of soldiers in guarding the border. The kitchen staff took away the white flour pancakes they had painstakingly saved for disaster relief. Li Yi joked with the kitchen staff, accusing them of stealing their own flour. While they were laughing and joking, a soldier reported an enemy situation, and Li Yi prepared for battle.

He heard someone in the distance shouting that he was General Pei Xian of Zhenxi. Li Yi stopped what he was doing. Pei Xian informed him that the Emperor had passed away, and only Prince Liang had survived. They wanted Li Yi to lead them in pacifying the chaos, but Li Yi refused. He believed that his father's whereabouts were unknown and that he might still be alive.

His father was still in the enemy's hands, and if he took control of the situation, it would be a death sentence for his father. Although Li Yi did not agree to their request, he still led the army back to Zhenxi. The first thing he did upon returning was to find a way to capture Pi Si Lang and make him return the stolen provisions. On the other side, a guard from the Cui family army reported that Pi Si Lang had appeared, so Cui Lin led them to find him.

Both Li Yi and Cui Lin were waiting for Pi Si Lang in his room. They both drew their weapons, ready to end Pi Si Lang's life. Unexpectedly, A Yue, a performing artist, suddenly entered the room, causing both of them to quickly hide in the bathtub. Li Yi and Cui Lin began fighting underwater, but they couldn't hold their breath any longer and stood up from the water.

They had no choice but to pretend to be a quarreling couple, thus escaping unharmed. After getting out, Cui Lin attempted to use her hidden weapon, a needle, against Li Yi. However, Li Yi saw through her plan and asked Cui Lin who she really was and why a woman had infiltrated this place. Cui Lin told him that she was not a woman.

Li Yi looked at her figure, and after a few more rounds of combat, he concluded that Cui Lin was indeed a woman. Their fight intensified, and Cui Lin's subordinates arrived and took her away. On their way back, Cui Lin and her subordinates discussed Li Yi's true identity. Based on his swordsmanship, Cui Lin speculated that he was the legitimate heir of the Pei family.

On the other hand, Li Yi had also deduced Cui Lin's identity. The Cui family army, like Li Yi's group, had infiltrated the city secretly. His subordinates suggested eliminating them quietly.

Li Yi disagreed with his proposal, and Cui Lin also guessed that the other person was Li Yi. They speculated about each other's next moves and had already planned their own strategies in their minds.

Cui Lin ordered her subordinates to quickly find the Crown Prince. Only by finding the Crown Prince could the Cui family army establish legitimacy. Cui Lin believed that only when they controlled the overall situation could the people live in peace and prosperity. At night, while Li Yi was preparing to wash himself by the well, Cui Lin happened to walk in that direction.

She hid when she saw Li Yi. Li Yi spotted a firefly and wanted to catch it. He said something out loud, indicating that he had spotted it. Cui Lin mistakenly thought that Li Yi was referring to her and got scared, taking a step back and dropping something from her hand. Li Yi noticed her, and they started fighting again.

At a critical moment, Cui Lin told Li Yi that she knew the whereabouts of the Crown Prince. This statement diverted Li Yi's attention. Unexpectedly, Cui Lin found a loophole and used her hidden needle weapon to stab Li Yi's arm. Li Yi suddenly felt pain and lost his balance, and Cui Lin used force to push him into the well.

Fortunately, his subordinates came looking for him and rescued him. Pi Si Lang came to find A Yue, and A Yue's maid informed him that Lady Pi had brought people to this location. Pi Si Lang got scared and quickly ran out, but he was immediately captured by Li Yi and his men. When the General in Guo Mansion heard the news of Pi Si Lang's capture, he became furious and scolded his subordinates harshly.

He believed they were all useless, unable to even keep an eye on a grain merchant. Cui Lin arrived at the city gate with the Cui family army, but Li Yi closed the gate tightly. He wanted Cui Lin to come to them and make a request. Cui Lin had already guessed what he had in mind, and soon, the young master of the Cui family army came to meet them.
