Episode 10 recap: Li Yi and Cui Lin cooked together.
Li Yi bought a lot of sugar pastries for Cui Lin because he knew she liked them. Cui Lin asked where he bought them, and Li Yi told her that it was made by Miss Gu. Li Yi asked Xie Chang Er to follow Tao Zi, and Cui Lin asked why he let him follow instead of causing trouble. Li Yi felt that by letting them leave, he and Cui Lin could have their own private time. Long Er was ordered to buy Chinese medicine for Tao Zi, and he asked Tao Zi if he bought the right ones. Tao Zi said that Cui Lin asked her to help Li Yi prepare a complex fake death potion and they were still missing a few ingredients.
Li Yi asked Cui Lin to eat the sugar pastries, and Cui Lin asked where he bought them. Li Yi told her that he didn't buy them himself, but they were just delivered by Miss Gu. Cui Lin asked if Miss Gu made them specifically for him, and Li Yi told her that of course not, others also have them. Li Yi told her that everything was ready now, except for Tao Zi's fake death potion. He told Cui Lin that he had Xie Chang Er follow Tao Zi for the past few days to see if there was anything he could help with. Cui Lin exclaimed in surprise that he let him follow Tao Zi and not cause trouble for her.
Master Cui saw Cui Lin and Li Yi being intimate together and decided that even if they set up tents outside the city, he wouldn't stay here. He immediately told Cui Lin that they should leave the city together, and Li Yi chased after them outside the city. Cui Lin asked why he didn't say anything before leaving. Cui Li promised General Xiao Pei that once they killed Master Cui, he would let him take control of the military power, and he would definitely be loyal to the Zhenxi army. Cui Li also mentioned that after their plan succeeded, he wanted to take control of Luoyang City. General Xiao Pei thought he had quite the ambition.
Cui Li continued to push his luck and said that he also wanted to ask the Zhenxi army for one thing, which was to have Li Yi write a letter promising to give them Luoyang City.
General Xiao Pei became very angry upon hearing this. He drew his sword and pointed it at Cui Li, telling him that he hadn't done anything and should not reach out for things. Cui Li had no choice but to keep quiet. Li Yi wrote a letter to inform Cui Lin that Cui Li was planning something against Master Cui. As a result, Cui Lin intensified her efforts to protect Master Cui.
Cui Lin wrote a reply and asked Tao Zi to deliver it to Xie Chang Er. Tao Zi pretended to be angry and unwilling to go. Cui Lin then said that she would add a note in the letter to have Lao Bao deliver it instead of Long Er. Upon hearing this, Tao Zi quickly stopped Cui Lin and left with the letter.
Cui Lin arrived at a sea of flowers and saw Li Yi lying on the ground as if asleep. She asked Li Yi if he was sleeping, and Li Yi said that if she didn't come soon, he would actually fall asleep. Hearing this, Cui Lin lay down beside Li Yi and told him that she was going back to Yingzhou. She promised to come and bid him a proper farewell.
After lying there for a while, it suddenly started raining. Li Yi brought Cui Lin to a house. Cui Lin couldn't believe that Li Yi had prepared a house. Li Yi said that it was fortunate they had the house; otherwise, they would have been drenched. The two of them enjoyed tea and cooked together in the house. Cui Lin felt that although Li Yi was born into the royal family, he didn't really enjoy the luxurious lifestyle.
Li Yi told her that he was born as a villain during the inauspicious month and had never been favored by his father, the emperor. Li Yi and Cui Lin discussed their past experiences. Cui Lin felt that Li Yi was a kind-hearted person. If someone treated him well, he would treat them even better. Cui Lin also told him that when she was a child, she was not much different from other boys. She practiced martial arts every day and sometimes had to endure exhaustion. Li Yi thought that it would have been great if they had met earlier. They could have trained together and fought together.
