Episode 27 recap: Li Yi rescued Cui Lin from Liu Cheng Feng's hands.
Li Yi brought the soldiers from Zhenxi Army to rescue Cui Lin, who had been poisoned and fell into a coma. After rescuing her, Li Yi asked Cui Lin if she would agree to something if he caught a hundred fireflies for her. Cui Lin told him that she wouldn't agree, even if he caught a thousand fireflies. Before Li Yi could say anything else, Cui Lin kissed him.
In a hurry, Ashu went to inform Liu Cheng Feng that Cui Lin had been settled and no matter how bumpy the journey, she wouldn't wake up. Liu Cheng Feng told Ashu that he didn't know when they would meet again and instructed him to tell the General that everything was forced upon him.
Liu Cheng Feng instructed Ashu to escape and find him later. Liu Cheng Feng and Jie Shuo carried the unconscious Cui Lin, preparing to leave when they heard the approaching troops of the Cui family army. Li Yi, along with the soldiers from Zhenxi Army, was also lying in ambush nearby, and they seized the opportunity to attack.
Li Yi held Cui Lin in his arms, but no matter how he called her, she wouldn't wake up. Liu Cheng Feng, filled with anger, wanted to snatch Cui Lin away from Li Yi. Sensing the danger, Jie Shuo quickly knocked out Liu Cheng Feng and took him away.
Cui Lin woke up suddenly from a nightmare, looking at Li Yi in front of her with fear, thinking it was a dream. Li Yi kissed her cheek, allowing her to truly feel his presence. It was then that Cui Lin believed it wasn't a dream and comfortably leaned against Li Yi. Lao Bao returned and narrated the spectacular scene of their rescue of Cui Lin to the soldiers of Zhenxi Army. Tao Zi informed him that the injuries were severe, and he couldn't engage in battle for the next month, otherwise his internal organs would be damaged.
Lao Bao urged Chang'er to marry Tao Zi quickly, or else she would always meddle in everything. General Han went to see Consort Xiao, informing her that the Crown Prince was safe, but he himself was eager to personally pay his respects to Consort Xiao.
Consort Xiao told General Han that Li Yi had promised to assist the Crown Prince in becoming the Emperor, and General Han asked if she still found Li Yi trustworthy. Consort Xiao assured him that Li Yi was still trustworthy, but she couldn't vouch for his two brothers.
Li Yi, Cui Lin, Lao Bao, Chang'er, Tao Zi, and others gathered together to barbecue and drink. Lao Bao told Li Yi that the previous times he asked for money were not for drinking at Fengying Tower, but for other purposes. Li Yi asked if they had done something unspeakable, and Lao Bao and the others told him they had saved someone.
They agreed to return to Laolan Pass together in the future, and when they grew old, they would go to Lao Bao's hometown to retire together. In the evening, Cui Lin and Li Yi sat by the river, watching fireflies together. Cui Lin told Li Yi that fireflies in Yingzhou were very rare, but when she was born, a firefly flew onto her cradle, so her mother gave her the nickname "Ayin."
Li Yi told her that he didn't have a proper nickname. His wet nurse called him "Shiqi Lang," so it stuck. Cui Lin told Li Yi that from now on, she would call him "Shiqi Lang." Li Yi smirked and said that it annoyed him when Cui Lin called him "Prince Zhen." Li Yi asked Cui Lin if she would agree to a request if he caught a hundred fireflies for her, and Cui Lin knew what he wanted to say.
She told Li Yi that she wouldn't agree, not even if he caught ten thousand fireflies. In this joyful moment, she didn't want to talk about unhappy things, so Li Yi didn't say anything either. Cui Lin wished that this happy moment could last a little longer, and just as Li Yi was about to speak, Cui Lin kissed his lips.
Jie Shuo broke through Baishui Pass, and the Emperor knows about it. Prime Minister Gu and the others whispered in the Emperor's ear, saying that it was all because of Cui Yi. The Emperor knew that Liu Cheng Feng had persuaded the defenders of Baishui Pass to collude with Jie Shuo, and it happened that Liu Cheng Feng was Cui Yi's adopted son.
Due to differences in opinion between Li Yi and the Emperor, the Emperor transferred his military power to the Prince Qi for management. Li Yi knew that Prince Qi had been planning this for a long time; it wasn't something his father could say on his own. General Xiao Pei was very unhappy with the current arrangement, but Li Yi told him that Cui Lin wanted him to understand that his two brothers couldn't be trusted.
Cui Lin hoped that Li Yi could become the Crown Prince of the world. They were originally deeply in love, but this matter caused a rift between them. He didn't agree to Cui Lin's proposal because he had his own concerns. If he became the Crown Prince, he would have to suppress the Cui family's army. Li Yi deliberately bought Cui Lin her favorite dried fruits, which Tao Zi took and gave to Cui Lin.
