Episode 36 recap: Long Er proposed to Tao Zi.
Li Yi was in the adjacent private room to Tao Zi and Cui Lin. He pretended not to know that it was Tao Zi and Cui Lin's room and asked both of them for their fish. Li Yi and Cui Lin started fighting on the bed. Li Yi told Cui Lin that he wouldn't be fooled this time and took the initiative to kiss her. Then he took Cui Lin to the bathtub to bathe together.
Tao Zi and Cui Lin were eating hot pot. Cui Lin thought Tao Zi's idea was great. Tao Zi said that by cooking the meat in this way, it wouldn't become tough. Li Yi and Long Er were pacing outside the door. Long Er felt it was too cold and suggested they go back. Li Yi said he had already told Cui Lin that he was going to have dinner with Gu Wan Niang, but she didn't seem to care.
Long Er couldn't understand why, if Li Yi said Cui Lin didn't care, they didn't just go back. Li Yi said he really didn't know why Tao Zi would like Long Er. Long Er said Tao Zi liked his silly appearance. Li Yi went back to the room and asked Tao Zi to bring him a pair of chopsticks.
Cui Lin forbade her from going, saying that Li Yi was supposed to have dinner with Gu Wan Niang. Cui Lin suggested Tao Zi invite Gu Wan Niang over and ask why she hadn't taken good care of Li Yi. Li Yi forbade her from going. He asked Tao Zi to leave first, and when they were alone, Cui Lin expressed her true thoughts. She asked Li Yi why he couldn't continue being the Crown Prince, providing advice to the court and disbanding their Cui family army, which turned her father from a great general into a feeble old man.
Li Yi said he had no choice but to do that. Cui Lin felt there was nothing more to say, so she told Li Yi to go back. Li Yi told her that it was Cheng Luan Hall that asked him to go back there, but Cui Lin told him to return to his own sleeping quarters. Li Yi said he wouldn't go back and started preparing a blanket to lay on the floor.
Cui Lin tried to snatch his blanket, and they ended up fighting over it on the bed. Li Yi couldn't resist and kissed Cui Lin. Finally, they consummated their marriage since the wedding day. The next morning, Li Yi asked Cui Lin about what happened last night. Cui Lin told him not to worry, as it was just a trivial matter. Li Yi was incredulous and asked her how it could be trivial.
Cui Lin continued by saying that if she had a child, she would kill Li Yi and let her son inherit the throne, making her the Empress. Li Yi got very angry and left. Early in the morning, two maidservants who served the Crown Princess were discussing the several kiss marks on Cui Lin's neck. They wondered why Li Yi didn't even spare a glance for Gu Wan Niang when she entered the palace. The other maid said it couldn't be the same. One was forced upon Li Yi, while the other was someone he deeply loved.
Gu Wan Niang learned about this and clenched her fists in anger. Her heart was filled with jealousy and anger.
Li Yi and Pei Yuan came to a restaurant specifically to find Mu Xian He. Li Yi knew that he loved to eat stuffed crab in oranges, so he deliberately ordered a serving of it, and sure enough, Mu Xian He arrived when he smelled the aroma.
Cui Lin and Tao Zi also came to the same restaurant, and coincidentally, they sat in the adjacent room to Li Yi's. Li Yi was unaware that Cui Lin was also at the restaurant. He wanted to order a sea bass to take back for Cui Lin to eat. However, Cui Lin also wanted a sea bass to take home. The restaurant owner informed Li Yi that there was only one sea bass left, and another customer also wanted it.
Li Yi decided to personally go and ask that customer to give it to him, but to his surprise, he found that the customer was Cui Lin. Cui Lin and Li Yi smiled at each other, feeling very happy. Liu Cheng Feng and Wu Luo were discussing their plan to attack Yingzhou and kill Li Yi.
Qiu Cui brought a bottle of medicine for Gu Wan Niang and told her that it wouldn't be detectable afterwards. Gu Wan Niang felt that this method was not feasible. Mu Xian He came to Li Yi's residence for a meal, and Li Yi asked him to perform a magic trick. Mu Xian He was a bit angry, feeling that people in this world were driven by greed, and he prepared to leave.
Li Yi told him that he was doing this to make an old man happy. Mu Xian He asked who the other person was. Li Yi told him, and Mu Xian He asked what benefit he would get from helping Li Yi. Li Yi told him that afterwards, he would have his own chef go to Mu Xian He's residence to cook for three years.
Long Er bought a shop for Tao Zi and asked her when she could marry him. Tao Zi said she needed to think about it carefully. Gu Wan Niang invited Li Yi to drink with her, unaware that the wine had been drugged. Li Yi became drowsy after drinking a few sips and pushed Gu Wan Niang away before quickly leaving.
Gu Wan Niang then realized that Qiu Cui had drugged the wine, and she felt that she had lost her only hope. She went home to seek her father's help, and Prime Minister Gu felt that everything would be fine as long as Cui Lin died.
This episode is so infuriating. The second male lead is nothing but a traitor. They saved him, and he repays them with betrayal. And he has the audacity to justify it by claiming to save Yingzhou.
How shameless, this treacherous scoundrel. The female lead's behavior is also really outrageous. It's true that she was manipulated by the camp she was in, although she was unaware of it.
But her attitude shouldn't be so stubborn. She should feel extremely guilty.
And then, when she confronts the main culprit, her approach is not fierce enough. She lacks the same level of intensity as that despicable person.
It makes me so angry that I want to jump up. Can this kind of betrayal just be easily brushed aside? So many people died. Is it so easy to say that they are enemies now and move on?
It's terrifying.
There's some guilt, but not much. There's some action, but only to a certain extent. Just imagine if the roles were reversed, and the female lead's camp was manipulated by the second female lead like this.
If the male lead reacted like this afterward, wouldn't everyone be furious?
I'm furious. I'm cursing the male lead for not handling things properly enough.
