Muran Hanbing kills Zhang Qiheng.Upon receiving the imperial edict, Muran Hanbing rushes into the palace. He cannot allow Meikaishao to marry someone else. However, Meikaishao is not so fortunate. Just as she plans to take the imperial edict and find the emperor, her family forcibly sends her back to her room, fearing that she might bring trouble to the Meifu (Mei residence).
After returning, Meikaishao packs her belongings and prepares to leave, unwilling to be married off to Bill in this place. Muran Hanbing pleads with the emperor to revoke the imperial edict but is rebuked by the emperor. Muran Hanbing kneels there, refusing to get up. At that moment, the empress dowager arrives. She believes that the emperor is the one who made the wrong move in the "mandarin duck script," while the emperor thinks that Muran Hanbing and Meikaishao are not a compatible match. The empress dowager also believes that the empress and the emperor are not a compatible match, but they were still conferred the title of empress. In the empress dowager's opinion, as long as they are happy with their choices, it's fine.
Under pressure from the empress dowager, the emperor is forced to relent. Meikaishao packs her things and sneaks out through the back door. Mei Ao sees her secretly following behind and intends to seize the opportunity to kill Meikaishao. However, he sees Muran Hanbing suddenly appear and holding Meikaishao. Muran Hanbing is filled with heartache and continuously apologizes to Meikaishao, blaming himself for not protecting her. Upon learning that she can still marry Muran Hanbing, Meikaishao finally holds onto him tightly.
The emperor initially arranges a marriage between Meikaishao and Zhang Qiheng but ultimately revokes the decree. This causes Zhang Qiheng to harbor resentment. When Zhang Qiheng is drinking alone, Zhang's wife approaches him and sows discord, urging him to turn his anger into action. In a fit of anger, Zhang Qiheng kidnaps Meikaishao with his men. Just as he is about to force himself on her, Muran Hanbing arrives and kills Zhang Qiheng with a single sword strike, rescuing Meikaishao and bringing her back to the palace.
