Episode 2 recap: Mei Kaishao encountered Murong Hanbing again.
After years of continuous warfare, the people suffered greatly. Over these years, the number of refugees and beggars has increased. The Eighth Prince Murong Zhao, the Third Prince Murong Hanbing, and the Heir Apparent of the Desert Kingdom, Hou Lingfeng, have also arrived on the streets. There are many rumors about Mei Kaishao circulating in the streets. Some say she is clever and capable, able to take on important responsibilities, while others say she indulges in a life of pleasure and is fickle. There are even those who say she is weak and sickly, not long for this world.
While they were discussing Mei Kaishao, they suddenly saw her eating with a few beggars. When Mei Kaishao saw Murong Hanbing, she hurriedly approached him, wanting to talk privately, but Murong Hanbing showed disdain. Mei Kaishao suggested taking Murong Hanbing to the opposite tavern to talk. Murong Hanbing glanced at the so-called tavern, which was actually a brothel, but he didn't refuse to follow Mei Kaishao inside.
Unexpectedly, Mei Kaishao brought Murong Hanbing and a few others into the brothel and recommended them to the madam, suggesting that they could attract female customers here and make money. At this moment, a customer took an interest in Mei Kaishao and tried to harass her, holding onto her shoulder. Mei Kaishao struggled to break free but couldn't, and at that moment, the Desert Kingdom's top female merchant, Yan, arrived and drove the man away. She struck up a conversation with Mei Kaishao as if they were old friends, while Murong Hanbing and his men left. Mei Kaishao didn't have a chance to say what she wanted to say to Murong Hanbing.
When Mei Kaishao went to the temple again to find Murong Hanbing, she mistakenly entered the residence of the Empress Dowager and was mistaken for an assassin.
