Episode 21 recap: Mei Kaishao's whereabouts are unknown after the accident.
Mei Kaishao was feeling down, thinking about Old Nie. Whenever she fell ill as a child, it was Old Nie who would make porridge for her to drink. The taste of those memories seemed to linger on her lips. But Old Nie was no longer here, and everything could never be the same again. Murong Hanbing knew that Mei Kaishao didn't want to face her family either, so he volunteered to let her stay. This place was Mei Kaishao's home. Mei Kaishao suggested that she wanted to accompany Old Nie on his final journey.
With Murong Hanbing and others accompanying her, Mei Kaishao paid her respects to Old Nie. She wore a bitter smile on her face. Yan Rulai tried to comfort Mei Kaishao, saying that Old Nie had found peace in his resting place. After Yan Rulai returned, she became angry and blamed Murong Hanbing for not taking good care of Mei Kaishao. She couldn't understand why Mei Kaishao would willingly throw herself into despair. Murong Hanbing was displeased with Yan Rulai's words, believing that she was trying to sow discord in front of Mei Kaishao.
Suddenly, a group of black-clad individuals attacked. The Shadow and others fought against the black-clad assailants. Yan Rulai took Mei Kaishao and fled, closely pursued by the assailants until they reached the edge of a cliff. Mei Kaishao held onto Yan Rulai's hand, and they comforted each other. Just then, Murong Hanbing arrived, but in the heat of the moment, Mei Kaishao, overcome with excitement, lost her footing and fell off the cliff. Without any hesitation, Murong Hanbing followed suit and jumped.
Despite searching for an entire day, Mei Kaishao and Murong Hanbing could not be found. Murong Hanbing stumbled around beneath the cliff searching for Mei Kaishao but only discovered a fluttering ribbon from her clothes. Murong Hanbing wanted to continue the search but suddenly fainted, only to be saved by Shadow, who arrived shortly after. The news quickly reached Mei Xuan, who learned that his beloved daughter was in trouble. Mei Xuan immediately ordered a search, while Mei Ao and Zhang Shi exchanged a knowing smile.
