Episode 23 recap: Mu Rong Han Bing sees Mei Kai Shao again.
After the sound of footsteps, the person who enters is indeed Mu Rong Han Bing. Mu Rong Han Bing realizes that there is someone familiar beside him. He tears off the veil and discovers that it is Mei Kai Shao. Mu Rong Han Bing excitedly embraces and kisses Mei Kai Shao, but in anger, he unintentionally bites her lip. Mei Kai Shao explains that she didn't actually die at that time but discovered someone in black following her. She got scared and went into hiding. When she returned later, she found that a funeral had been held for her at the Mei residence. So, she came up with a plan and took advantage of the twilight today to steal something.
Mei Kai Shao reveals the whole plot she discovered to Mu Rong Han Bing. At that moment, outside the study, Mei Tai Yan stops Zhang Shi, claiming she is here to prepare funeral clothes for Mei Kai Shao. Zhang Shi wants to enter the study to find Mei Xuan, but Mei Tai Yan persuades her to leave, stating that Mei Xuan is not in the study. Just as Mu Rong Han Bing and Mei Kai Shao are about to leave, they encounter Mei Xuan. Mei Xuan, accompanied by a short person with a scarred face and a group of people, blocks their path. Mei Xuan accuses Mu Rong Han Bing of wanting to put the generals in a life-threatening situation. Mei Xuan wants to take Mei Kai Shao back with him, but Mei Kai Shao sarcastically remarks that Mei Xuan has no right to bear the Mei surname. He is just a useless son-in-law, while she is a true member of the Mei family who has been repeatedly framed by Mei Xuan.
Mei Xuan explains that he didn't harm Mei Kai Shao. He blames Mei Kai Shao for not shouldering the responsibility of being the head of the family and competing with Mei Ao. Mu Rong Han Bing becomes furious and fights against Mei Xuan, resulting in both of them being injured.
