Episode 6 recap: "Mei Kaishao helps Murong Hanbing clear his name.

Lord Huang presents the body of Huang Shiwen before the emperor, accusing the third prince, Murong Hanbing. Lord Huang asserts that Murong Hanbing failed to provide adequate security, as he was responsible for guarding the selection of the crown princess that day. The emperor demands Murong Hanbing to give an explanation to Lord Huang promptly. Meanwhile, Mei Kaishao arrives at the palace but is intercepted and not allowed entry. In her state of distress, Lord Huang and Murong Hanbing emerge together. Lord Huang is relentless, blaming Murong Hanbing for the incident.

Mei Kaishao presents two paintings to Lord Huang and Murong Hanbing. One of the paintings depicts the person who left in a carriage after the princess selection, and Mei Kaishao recalls that Huang Shiwen was the one who departed in the carriage that day. Mei Kaishao then inquires about the appearance of the coachman and discovers that the person in the carriage was not Yan Ruhua at all, but an imposter. With Mei Kaishao, Murong Hanbing returns to the emperor and reveals the truth. Faced with undeniable evidence, Lord Huang has no choice but to kneel and admit his mistake, attempting to frame Murong Hanbing. The emperor becomes furious and imprisons Lord Huang in the dungeon.

In reality, Murong Hanbing had always advocated for the importance of knowledge over martial arts, causing unease in Mei Xuan's heart. Mei Xuan orchestrated Lord Huang's downfall, but she never anticipated that it would harm her own daughter. Mei Xuan could never have imagined that at some point, Mei Kaishao and Murong Hanbing would become so close. Mei Kaishao helped Murong Hanbing, and as a gesture of gratitude, he invites her to enjoy delicious food on the street. Mei Kaishao gets a sesame seed stuck on her lips, and Murong Hanbing gently removes it, causing her to reveal a shy smile."
