Episode 2 recap: Shan Yu went back ten years ago to save Min Ying.
Min Ying turned around and looked at an old man but didn't find their trace, which put her at ease. Upon closer inspection of the peculiar-looking Shan Yu in front of her, she noticed that he had eye bags and his appearance was different from the present. Without time for explanations, Shan Yu hugged Min Ying tightly, relieved that she hadn't died. Min Ying explained that she didn't write her report, so the professor who was chasing after her earlier was just scaring her, which prompted her to flee.
Shan Yu was curious why Min Ying, who intended to leave the country, was busy working instead of focusing on her report. However, Min Ying expressed that she had never considered leaving and wanted to stay with her grandmother here. Min Ying specially gave Shan Yu a cup of milk tea, his favorite flavor. She denied that she had bought it specifically for him, claiming it was leftover from the store, avoiding eye contact with Shan Yu out of shyness before leaving. Excited, Shan Yu wanted to call out to Min Ying but suddenly disappeared and returned to the past.
When Shan Yu discovered the modern phone on the table, everything in the room, and the extinguished candle, he suddenly understood. Lighting the candle could send him back to the past, but once the candle went out, he would come back. After making this discovery, Shan Yu lit the candle again and returned to the past. However, seeing that there was not much wax left on the candle, he started to feel anxious.
Shan Yu remembered that ten years ago, he passed by a candle shop where he could make candles himself. Curious, he made nine candles with the intention of giving them to Min Ying. Shan Yu planned to use the remaining six minutes to go back to that day because he had made nine candles. As that day he had a violin competition, he hurriedly drove there and saw his own performance on stage. With time running out, Shan Yu quickly searched for his bag in his seat. Just as he found his bag, he was discovered by the Shan Yu who was performing on stage. Shan Yu hurriedly chased after the person in black who had taken the bag and even got pushed down by them.
Angry that her crush was pushed, Min Ying, filled with indignation, chased after the person in black. However, she almost fell but was fortunately caught by the person in black. At that moment, Min Ying looked at the familiar eyes and eyebrows and suddenly felt a sense of familiarity. Meanwhile, Shan Yu also chased after them and called out to Min Ying. When Min Ying turned around, the person in black had disappeared, and she had no idea that the person in black was Shan Yu from ten years later.
Ten years later, Shan Yu only learned from a classmate that Min Ying had invited him to the music concert to confess her feelings. However, that day happened to be his parents' wedding anniversary, and his father's absence due to work made his mother upset and caused a heated argument. Shan Yu was worried about his mother and ended up breaking the appointment. Now, Shan Yu wants to make up for the regret of ten years ago. He lights the candle again and returns to the past, becoming a delivery person before his mother receives the phone call about his father's absence and gives her the anniversary gift.
