Episode 1 recap: Wang Pingguo goes to the hotel to catch the affair.
Wang Pingguo, a housewife, was conspired against by her husband, Chen Chao, and his mistress, Wang Meimei. They pushed her off a cliff, marking the end of Wang Pingguo's nightmare and the beginning of her new destiny. Three months ago, Wang Pingguo lived naively as a housewife, leading a humble life in her marriage. Her husband, Chen Chao, constantly sought other women outside and even had an affair with her best friend, Wang Meimei, all of which Wang Pingguo was completely unaware of.
On this day, Chen Chao took another woman to a hotel to check in, and Wang Pingguo, sensing something was amiss, brought Wang Meimei to the hotel to catch them in the act. The hotel receptionist refused to disclose Chen Chao's room number, but while Wang Meimei was on the phone at the front desk, she learned the room number and immediately took Wang Pingguo to find them. Wang Pingguo rushed into the room that Wang Meimei had mentioned, while Chen Chao was in the room opposite, entangled with the woman he had checked in with. Upon seeing Wang Pingguo causing a commotion across the hall, he quickly hid.
While Wang Pingguo was questioning the cleaning lady about Chen Chao's whereabouts, Wang Meimei discovered Chen Chao's wallet left in the bed sheets. She discreetly hid it, afraid of being discovered by Wang Pingguo. Unable to find Chen Chao, Wang Pingguo had no choice but to call him. Chen Chao claimed to be at home, leaving her with no option but to immediately take Wang Meimei back home. Once they arrived home, Wang Pingguo confronted Chen Chao about the hotel incident, but he accused her of being overly suspicious, claiming to be exhausted from work and unwilling to entertain Wang Pingguo's irrationality.
Wang Pingguo refused to let Chen Chao off the hook, and he began to criticize her, finding fault with her current appearance, which he found unbearable. Wang Pingguo argued that she became a housewife for Chen Chao's sake, and he had no reason to despise her. Chen Chao disregarded Wang Pingguo's contributions to the family and reminded her that he was the one earning the money, implying she had no right to challenge him, which infuriated Wang Pingguo.
Frustrated, Wang Pingguo stormed into the room, and Chen Chao started to flirt with Wang Meimei, trying to appease Wang Pingguo by pretending it was all a misunderstanding. The next morning, Chen's mother came from the countryside to find Chen Chao. Unable to enter the house, she scolded Chen Chao over the phone, demanding that he immediately bring Wang Pingguo back to serve her.
Reluctant to call Wang Pingguo, Chen Chao was pressured by his mother and had no choice but to ask Wang Pingguo to come home. As soon as Chen's mother entered the house, she berated Wang Pingguo for having nothing to do at home, not tidying up the house, and rudely placed her dirty and smelly feet on the coffee table, which greatly upset Wang Pingguo. Wang Pingguo dared not criticize Chen's mother and politely smiled at her, even offering to wash her feet with hot water. However, Chen's mother showed no appreciation.
Complaining that the water was too hot, Chen's mother pushed Wang Pingguo down, and Wang Pingguo could only apologize repeatedly. She then took off her jade bracelet and personally washed Chen's mother's feet. While Wang Pingguo was washing Chen's mother's feet, she took a liking to Wang Pingguo's jade bracelet and immediately wanted to claim it for herself, leading to an argument between Wang Pingguo and Chen's mother.
