Episode 13 recap: Wang Meimei threatens Chen Chao using an account book.
Wang Meimei went to the company to ask Chen Chao for money. Chen Chao, on the other hand, stated that Wang Meimei only knows how to spend money recklessly all day long. Their home is already filled with clothes and handbags, and he will not give Wang Meimei any more money. Wang Meimei refuses to let Chen Chao off the hook and uses the death of Wang Pingguo as leverage. She threatens Chen Chao, warning him not to try to get rid of her, otherwise, their ship will sink and he shouldn't blame her.
Chen Chao has no choice but to give Wang Meimei his card and allow her to buy whatever she wants. Wang Meimei takes the card and leaves, but she is still unhappy because Chen Chao only gives her 5,000 yuan per month, while he embezzles tens of thousands of yuan from the company by falsifying accounts. She wants to get her hands on that money as well.
Wang Meimei remembers what Li Sheng told her about controlling Chen Chao's account book as a means of threatening him. So when she returns home, she retrieves Chen Chao's account book. When Chen Chao comes home from work, Wang Meimei not only doesn't cook for him but also doesn't even order takeout, which makes him unable to restrain his complaints towards her. Wang Meimei explains that she is not Wang Pingguo and won't let Chen Chao treat her as an easy target. She then pulls out the account book and threatens Chen Chao.
As soon as Chen Chao sees the account book, he immediately gives in to Wang Meimei, saying he will do as she says. Chen Chao sweet-talks Wang Meimei, but at that moment, Wang Pingguo's phone rings. Wang Meimei has to pretend to be Wang Pingguo and reply to messages from others, just to prevent anyone from finding out about Wang Pingguo's death. Chen Chao is somewhat worried, fearing that the news of Wang Pingguo's death might be discovered. However, Wang Meimei is not afraid at all and believes that Wang Pingguo won't come back to life, so there's nothing to worry about.
Wang Pingguo is not actually dead. She is currently gathering evidence of Chen Chao and Wang Meimei's crimes and waiting for the right moment to seek revenge against them.
