Episode 8 recap: 王梅梅 framed Wang Pingguo for an affair, but her plan failed.
When Chen Chao noticed that Wang Pingguo hadn't returned, he asked Wang Meimei about the reason. Wang Meimei then revealed that Wang Pingguo went to visit a distant relative. Upon hearing that Wang Pingguo was at the relative's place, Chen Chao immediately thought of catching them in the act. However, Wang Meimei held onto Chen Chao and explained that she was the one who sent Wang Pingguo to the relative's place. She told Chen Chao that she did it to falsely accuse Wang Pingguo of having an affair with the relative, so they could demand compensation from Wang Zhiguo.
Upon realizing that money could be obtained, Chen Chao became delighted. Wang Meimei continued to manipulate Chen Chao, suggesting that he could use the affair to force Wang Pingguo to leave and take possession of her house. Meanwhile, at home, Yu Yuan was taking care of Wang Pingguo, busy pouring water for her. Wang Pingguo, however, was insisting on going back home. Yu Yuan told her that she didn't have her keys, but Wang Pingguo claimed that she had them just a moment ago.
Suspecting that something was amiss, Yu Yuan prepared herself mentally. Wang Meimei explained the whole situation to Chen Chao, but he was still not convinced and was eager to catch them in the act. He took Wang Meimei and barged into Yu Yuan's house. Chen Chao and Wang Meimei searched for Wang Pingguo inside Yu Yuan's house, while Yu Yuan confidently sat on the sofa, waiting for them to find her.
Chen Chao interrogated Yu Yuan, asking where Wang Pingguo was hiding, while Yu Yuan questioned why Chen Chao and Wang Meimei had come to his house. Chen Chao demanded to see Wang Pingguo, but Yu Yuan insisted that she wasn't at his place. Wang Meimei firmly stated that she personally brought Wang Pingguo there. Unable to find Wang Pingguo and with Yu Yuan refusing to disclose her whereabouts, Chen Chao angrily knocked things off Yu Yuan's hands, wanting to leave.
Yu Yuan couldn't tolerate Chen Chao's behavior and directly knocked him down, demanding compensation for the items he had broken. Helpless against Yu Yuan, Chen Chao had no choice but to have Wang Meimei compensate Yu Yuan with 2,000 yuan, and they left in peace. Wang Pingguo returned home early, just as Chen Chao and Wang Meimei were fooling around in the house. Unable to hide in time, one of them had to engage Wang Pingguo in conversation while the other hid to change clothes.
Wang Pingguo wanted to know why she had to spend the night at the hotel and why Wang Meimei and Chen Chao didn't come to pick her up. She also wanted to know where Chen Chao had gone. Wang Meimei didn't know how to lie and claimed she didn't remember, saying that Chen Chao had already gone to work. However, at that moment, Chen Chao's phone rang.
