Episode 21 recap: Mr. Gu, the father, passed away.
After Chen Sinan left, Mr. Gu tried to call Chaochao. However, he didn't notice the message on the side because he was playing the piano, so he missed the call. At that moment, Mr. Gu's old illness relapsed, and he thought of going upstairs to get his medicine. To his surprise, he saw Miss Ruan changing the medicine. He asked her why, and Miss Ruan explained that she had given birth to his daughter but only obtained the identity of a mistress of the Gu family in return. Mr. Gu was only concerned about his son and neglected everything else.
Due to fear, Miss Ruan accidentally pushed Mr. Gu off, causing him to suffer serious injuries. In his critical condition, Mr. Gu wanted to call Chaochao but realized he was still playing the piano. Miss Ruan was terrified upon witnessing Mr. Gu's death. She immediately called her lover, who advised her to leave quickly, as the police would surely find him.
