Episode 1 recap: Linglong Tower was ordered to go undercover in the Huanbozi Mountain.
Linglong Tower is a panda who, after rigorous training, finally qualified to become a deity and happily came to the heavenly realm, ready to start his joyful life. However, to his surprise, the life of a deity was not as good as he had imagined. As a low-level junior immortal, his superiors actually asked him to go undercover in the Monster Palace. When Linglong Tower arrived in the heavenly realm, many of his newly immortalized companions had already arrived. The leader told them that in three years, Tang Sanzang would go to the Western Heaven to obtain the scriptures. On Tang Sanzang's journey, there were a total of fifty-four monsters. Their mission was to infiltrate the caves of those monsters and protect Tang Sanzang's safety when the pilgrimage team arrived.
Just as the leader finished speaking, a new immortal stood up and asked if they would not become deities if they didn't want to go undercover. Before the new immortal finished speaking, a scream was heard, and he disappeared from the heavenly realm. This question from the new immortal was exactly what Linglong Tower wanted to ask, but seeing the consequences of the new immortal's question, he had to swallow his words.
The place where Linglong Tower had to go undercover was Huanbozi Mountain. He pointed the destination towards the joystick of a game prop, "Jindouyun," and said it more than a dozen times. However, he misheard it as "Huaguo Mountain," and the teleportation failed. He was confused and ended up in a remote place. Fortunately, there was an old star god with white hair who pointed out the location of Huanbozi Mountain for him.
The old star god told Linglong Tower that the monster on Huanbozi Mountain was called Pinky Monster, and there was a chicken monster named Daji on the mountain. When he arrived at Huanbozi Mountain, he should first find Daji and tell him that he was the distant relative of Ma Shisan, the chef of the Pinky King. Before Ma Shisan passed away, he asked Linglong Tower to become the chef on Huanbozi Mountain. Linglong Tower wanted to tell the old star god that he didn't even know how to stir-fry tomatoes with eggs, and it would be easy to expose himself while pretending to be a chef. But the old star god gave him a disdainful look and said he could learn.
Linglong Tower walked to Huanbozi Mountain and felt tired and exhausted. Unexpectedly, he saw an unattended ox cart and happily drove it away. The son of the Pinky Monster stopped the ox cart to go to the bathroom and saw someone driving his cart away. He hurriedly pulled up his pants and chased after it, but the ox cart quickly disappeared. Linglong Tower was pleasantly surprised to find that the ox pulling the cart was faster than a thousand-mile horse.
When Linglong Tower arrived at Huanbozi Mountain, he saw that the monsters were holding a funeral. After inquiring, he learned that the Pink Wind King had died. He went over and howled a few times, but the mole rat strategist on Huanbozi Mountain became suspicious of his identity. When he heard Linglong Tower claiming to be a chef, he casually ordered him to cook a few dishes. Linglong Tower didn't know how to cook anything, and he realized that the situation was not good, so he quickly turned around and ran.
Just as Linglong Tower was about to reach the ox cart, he was captured by the mole rat strategist and his men. However, the mole rat strategist mistook the ox cart as Linglong Tower's son, so he led everyone to kneel and worship the supposed heir.
