Episode 7 recap: Linglong Tower learned the Fence Technique.
Linglong Tower dragged the treasure chest of the Great King Wang into his own house and was searching for a suitable spell for himself. Suddenly, the Mole Rat Strategist appeared in front of him. He seemed to realize that Linglong Tower didn't understand magic, but he didn't expose it. In order to prevent him from revealing any flaws in front of the other demons, the Mole Rat Strategist taught him the Swordsmanship. However, after learning for a long time, Linglong Tower only grasped the basics.
Linglong Tower watched Tu Ye, who was floating in mid-air and eating noodles while holding a bowl, and couldn't help but ask the Mole Rat Strategist why he couldn't be like Tu Ye. The Mole Rat Strategist looked him up and down, suspecting that it was because Linglong Tower was severely overweight. So he began teaching him the Fence Technique, a protective spell. However, Linglong Tower's performance still disappointed the Mole Rat Strategist.
Seeing that Linglong Tower was distracted, the Mole Rat Strategist sighed and shook his head. He then relayed the words of the Great King Wang to Linglong Tower. To his surprise, Linglong Tower not only didn't get angry but instead happily said that he could become the new king. To encourage Linglong Tower, the Mole Rat Strategist suddenly changed his attitude and said that Linglong Tower had great potential and was not an incapable person.
While the Mole Rat Strategist was teaching Linglong Tower the Fence Technique, he was spotted by Pang Zong Guan. Pang Zong Guan then informed Tu Ye and Director Hu about this and instigated them to get rid of Linglong Tower. They couldn't tolerate a demon who didn't understand magic becoming their king. However, they rejected Director Hu's proposal because in a few days, it would be the open day of the Flower Neck Mountain, and the family members of Tu Ye and Director Hu would come to visit. They didn't want a bloody incident to happen on such an important occasion.
Linglong Tower overheard their conversation and realized that he was in great danger. He quickly packed up his belongings and prepared to escape. But as soon as he stepped out of the mountain gate, he saw Director Hu leading his family up the mountain. He hurriedly hid in a nearby haystack. Linglong Tower was relieved that he wasn't discovered, but suddenly turned around and found that the Mole Rat Strategist was also inside the haystack. It turned out that this haystack was the Mole Rat Strategist's home.
The Mole Rat Strategist asked Linglong Tower if he had someone he wanted to protect. He explained that as long as Linglong Tower had someone in mind, the probability of mastering the Fence Technique would increase. Upon hearing this, Linglong Tower thought of his master. His master had patiently taught him Tai Chi in the past, but he only wanted to be a carefree giant panda and didn't want to learn from his master.
Thinking of his master, Linglong Tower began chanting the words his master used to say while imagining a big watermelon. He then split the watermelon into two halves. As soon as he finished speaking, he had actually mastered the Fence Technique. Tu Ye and others came to test it and found that Linglong Tower's Fence Technique was unbreakable. The demons cheered for him, but Director Hu's face showed displeasure.
