Episode 16 recap: White Shizhou misunderstood Dr. Lin.
Wang Yanan approached Ma Chongfeng expressing her wish to buy some fertilizer for the orange trees. Wu, the accountant, bluntly stated that the village's budget was too tight and there was no money to be spent on this. After hearing this, Ma Chongfeng realized that he had been tricked and said he could find investors.
Ma Chongfeng, a tall person, approached Li Changsheng and told him that the medical team would be coming soon, hoping that he wouldn't give them a hard time. Li Changsheng asked why White Shizhou hadn't arrived yet. The tall person said that she had gone to town early because her girlfriend was in the medical team. Li Changsheng was puzzled and asked if he had a girlfriend. The tall person confirmed it and even mentioned seeing Meng Chun Mengqiu drinking last night.
When Director Sun saw Professor Zhang, he immediately greeted him. Before they could exchange a few words, White Shizhou entered. Professor Zhang learned that he had gone to Xiancao Village and was quite impressed. Professor Zhang realized that he had come to find Dr. Lin and urged him to go. Li Changsheng saw Wang Yanan and asked her how she ended up there. Wang Yanan honestly said that she was just passing by. Li Changsheng realized that she had come for White Shizhou, and Wang Yanan said she wanted to ask him what he wanted to eat at night. Li Changsheng explained that he went to town because the medical team had arrived, and his girlfriend was among them. Wang Yanan saw this as an opportunity to take action in the evening. Li Changsheng asked about their previous relationship and immediately realized something was wrong. He asked if she liked White Shizhou, to which Wang Yanan honestly said it was a misunderstanding. Li Changsheng expressed his concern for her and said that if she truly liked someone, she should put her whole life into it. So if she really liked someone, she should speak up. Wang Yanan said she understood and then turned and left.
On his way back to the village, White Shizhou remembered Dr. Lin's hurtful words, especially the moment he saw Dr. Zhou. It pained him deeply. When White Shizhou returned to Xiancao Village, Wang Yanan said she had cooked soup for him. White Shizhou bluntly said he didn't want to drink it. Wang Yanan asked what was wrong, and under her persistent questioning, White Shizhou got angry and said he just didn't want to drink it. He then went back to his room and, realizing his attitude was inappropriate, came out to apologize to Yanan.
Dr. Lin called White Shizhou and waited for a long time before he answered. Dr. Lin explained that today's misunderstanding was just a misunderstanding. White Shizhou straightforwardly said that if it was really a prank, he wouldn't be able to accept it because she had the right to choose anyone. Dr. Lin acknowledged that the misunderstanding had a reason behind it, which was a lack of communication. Dr. Lin never expected that she would end up going to Xiancao Village with Dr. Zhou. Early in the morning, White Shizhou waited at the village entrance to welcome Dr. Lin and was slightly surprised when he saw Dr. Zhou. Dr. Lin explained that her situation with Dr. Zhou was just a misunderstanding. White Shizhou straightforwardly said he knew, but he was too impulsive at that time.
