Episode 22 recap: The H1N1 flu spreads in Xiancao Village.

After seeing off Yingzi, Ma Chong Feng continues with his own tasks. Bai Shizhou comes to find Li Chang Sheng and asks him what he's doing. Li Chang Sheng says he's contemplating, while Bai Shizhou admits he just wants to slack off. He believes that understanding isn't necessary at the moment; all that matters is rote memorization. Bai Shizhou recites a passage to him, and Li Chang Sheng repeats it back accurately. Then he goes to take the exam.

Bai Shizhou expresses his intention to wait until Li Chang Sheng's exam results are out before leaving. Li Chang Sheng honestly states that there's nothing pressing. Bai Shizhou asks why he supports him leaving, and Li Chang Sheng explains that it would allow him to take over the clinic. Bai Shizhou inquires if he's ever considered leaving this place, to which Li Chang Sheng states that he's allowed to have dreams, unlike himself. He believes that young people like him will succeed wherever they go. Bai Shizhou says a lot of heartfelt words, but Li Chang Sheng bluntly responds that men don't need that. At that moment, Wang Ya Nan comes to find Li Chang Sheng and informs him that Ma Chong Feng has a high fever. Upon hearing this, Li Chang Sheng immediately says he'll go, and Bai Shizhou wants to join. However, Li Chang Sheng tells him not to waste his train ticket.

When Li Chang Sheng returns, he mentions that Ma Chong Feng's illness is likely the flu, as everyone rushed to the clinic upon hearing that Bai Shizhou had returned. Li Chang Sheng urges them to go back and lock their doors as a precaution against the flu. Seeing that everyone wants to greet Bai Shizhou, he suddenly becomes angry. Bai Shizhou remarks that his anger feels different than usual.

Bai Shizhou and Li Chang Sheng inform Wu the accountant about the severity of the flu outbreak, and he says he'll notify others immediately. Big Guy comes to see Wu the accountant and mentions that despite the long announcement on the radio, nobody paid attention and there are still people organizing a full-month celebration. Lin Yun calls Bai Shizhou and says he's late today, but Bai Shizhou tells him about the flu outbreak in the village and expresses his deep concern, so he won't go for now. Lin Yun points out the serious consequences of his actions.

Li Chang Sheng admits that he said he would leave but is still here, and he doesn't know if he's happy or not. After Bai Shizhou and Li Chang Sheng analyze the severity of the flu, Bai Shizhou immediately starts to make arrangements. Li Chang Sheng says he'll listen to him because he's still an unlicensed doctor. Bai Shizhou reassures him that in his heart, Li Chang Sheng is the best doctor, regardless of having a license or not.

Ma Chong Feng is very happy because Bai Shizhou stayed after he got sick. Director Wen asks if he plans to stay forever because of this illness, but Ma Chong Feng feels that he has a faint sense that Bai Shizhou is meant to be here. Wang Ya Nan goes to the county to find medicine, and Director Sun tells her that medicine is in short supply at the moment. Once the supplies arrive, they will be distributed to their village. He also mentions that Li Chang Sheng is a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and hopes they can make use of the advantages of herbal medicine.

When Bai Shizhou sees Li Chang Sheng coming here to seek divine intervention, he suggests that focusing on studying the disease would be more helpful than seeking blessings from ancestors. Li Chang Sheng admits that he understands that, but he just wants peace of mind. Bai Shizhou, after seeing his plan, remarks that Li Chang Sheng is not a stubborn old man, but rather someone with foresight. Li Chang Sheng straightforwardly tells him not to flatter him.

Li Chang Sheng distributes medicine to everyone at the clinic. When Wu the accountant sees Wang Ya Nan, he immediately opens his umbrella, stating that with the rampant spread of the H1N1 flu, he wants to take protective measures. Wang Ya Nan shares her thoughts with him, and Wu the accountant acknowledges her good deployment. He mentions that he has already prepared the documents, and paperless office work is very convenient in special circumstances.

The vaccines for the town arrive in Xiancao Village. The villagers have little understanding of vaccines and prefer medication over injections. Wang Ya Nan immediately explains the origin and purpose of vaccines to them. However, the villagers remain skeptical and insist on taking oral medicine only. They dismiss the idea of getting vaccinated. Li Chang Sheng witnesses this scene and immediately steps forward, questioning what they are doing. He emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated and then properly taking medicine as the correct approach.
