Episode 2 recap: Lanxi returned to work at the company for the sake of survival.

Lanxi found that Qin Zhihang refused to reinstate her in her original position, so she immediately threw in the towel and decided to resign. Shang Tianjing overheard Lanxi's words and was ecstatic, thinking that her position as the director was secure. Lanxi felt extremely frustrated and went to her usual bar. The owner, upon learning of her current downfall, gave her a poorly made drink with only a sip of alcohol, as a stingy gesture in return for Lanxi's long-time patronage. Before Lanxi could even take a sip, she received a call from the hospital informing her that her father's medical expenses were still unpaid. She quickly tried to come up with ways to raise money.

When Lanxi was wealthy, she had no shortage of friends around her. She thought this sum of money was not much and that a simple phone call would solve the problem. So she started making phone calls, but as soon as the other party heard that she wanted to borrow money, they made excuses about poor signal reception and quickly hung up. Lanxi made several more calls, but no one was willing to lend her the money. However, she refused to give up and still insisted on finding a way to borrow it. The people who were willing to lend her money either had impure motives or were just students who couldn't come up with such a large sum.
