Episode 4 recap: The hospital is investigating the death of Luo Hai Tao. There was a conflict between Chen Hui and Director Wang Kai.

Wang Kai, accompanied by a group of people, was doing rounds. He told the patient, Lu Zhiguo, that he could be discharged. Lu Zhiguo was happy to hear that, but Chen Hui bluntly stated that he couldn't be discharged. Wang Kai felt that Chen Hui was challenging his authority as the director in front of so many people, so he became furious and launched a fierce verbal attack on Chen Hui.

Everyone managed to calm down Wang Kai, but Chen Hui insisted that Lu Zhiguo should not be discharged. He explained that Lu Zhiguo's cholecystitis surgery required a three-day recovery period to avoid the risk of infection. However, Wang Kai ignored him. Chen Hui came up with a solution, suggesting that Lu Zhiguo should use anhydrous alcohol to clean the wound and prevent infection.

Wang Kai impatiently told him to go to the pharmacy and find anhydrous alcohol. Director Bai Mei knew that the pharmacy didn't have it and felt that Wang Kai was being unreasonable. In fact, Wang Kai just wanted to send Chen Hui away to get him out of the way. He Tong was summoned to Dean Pan's office, where Dean Jiang aggressively interrogated him, asking if his intubation mistake caused Luo Hai Tao's death. He Tong didn't know how to respond, and Dean Pan was displeased with Dean Jiang's aggressive questioning. Dean Jiang said he didn't want it to be this way either, but Luo Hai Tao's wife, Du Mengmeng, had already reported the incident.

Surprisingly, none of Liu Zhenwei's colleagues mentioned He Tong's intubation mistake. Dean Pan asked He Tong to leave the office, and Dean Jiang warned him not to leave the city and to keep his phone on for twenty-four hours. He Tong nodded and left, feeling frustrated. In the office, Wang Kai complained that he only wanted Lu Zhiguo to be discharged to meet the hospital's assessment conversion rate. His colleagues were busy all the time, and if they couldn't meet the targets, their salaries would be deducted. Who among them was wealthy? Lu Zhiguo also wanted to be discharged early because his entire family relied on him to earn a living. What would happen if he couldn't be discharged? After hearing Wang Kai's reasoning, Yuan Ye understood and followed Wang Kai's instructions to handle Lu Zhiguo's discharge procedures.

Chen Hui went to the pharmacy to find anhydrous alcohol, but the pharmacy staff informed him that they didn't have it. At that moment, Chief Zhang came over and rudely grabbed Chen Hui, taking him to Dean Pan's office.

Jiang insisted on questioning Chen Hui with a photo, pressuring him to reveal what Luo Hai Tao said to him before the surgery and whether he gave him a red envelope. Dean Pan didn't believe that Chen Hui would accept a red envelope from a patient, but Jiang had solid evidence. Chen Hui admitted that Luo Hai Tao gave him something, but he didn't know if it was money. Upon learning that Chen Hui kept it in a cabinet at home, Jiang suggested that they all go together to retrieve it.

Chen Hui continued searching for anhydrous alcohol, and upon hearing that it might be in the storage room, he persistently ran over to look for it. Director Bai Mei found He Tong and took him to the operating room, instructing him to practice intubating 200 times. She told He Tong seriously that they wouldn't hold him responsible for Luo Hai Tao's death, but he had to overcome his own psychological obstacles.

Chen Hui went to the storage room to find alcohol but ended up getting locked inside by the replacement staff. After finding the anhydrous alcohol, he couldn't get out. Dean Pan led Dean Jiang and the others to Chen Hui's residence, but he didn't join them. Dean Jiang and Chief Zhang went to Chen Hui's house and found a letter from Luo Hai Tao in the cabinet.

As the news of Jiang's investigation into Luo Hai Tao's cause of death spread, the surgical team felt heavy-hearted. Ma Lan comforted her husband, Liu Zhen Wei, telling him that this matter had nothing to do with him and that someone was using it as an opportunity to target Dean Pan. Chen Hui finally came out, and he and He Tong excitedly returned to find Wang Kai. They learned that Lu Zhiguo had already completed the discharge process, and Chen Hui emotionally yelled out that he couldn't be discharged because his life was in danger.

Just then, Lu Zhiguo's examination report arrived, and Liu Zhen Wei was shocked to see that the wound hadn't been properly treated. He immediately ordered Wang Kai to bring Lu Zhiguo back. Without hesitation, Chen Hui rushed out, and Yuan Ye quickly followed.

Lu Zhiguo received a call from the hospital, and in that instant of answering the phone, he suddenly had a seizure and collapsed. Chen Hui sensed the situation and quickly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation to save Lu Zhiguo.
